Hi everyone - I’m still reading but not much to update about. Close but no cigar as the saying goes.

What are everyone’s thoughts about Christmas? I really don’t want to go overboard (and backwards) but want to enjoy it and be sociable.

DBatteryBand · 04/12/2025 20:53

Lovely to read how everyone is doing. Really struggling here. Still losing about a pound a week, but eating far too many biscuits (my old enemy). I have noticed I've started eating smaller meals to accommodate my biscuit habit, which absolutely needs to stop. Interestingly, despite my biscuit issues, I have zero interest in mince pies (which I usually love). Even DH has commented that I usually start pushing them down my throat from about September, like a foie gras goose, but haven't had a single one.

I am a bit sad about Christmas. As a bona fide glutton, I am feeling low that I can't stuff my face and glug down gallons of Baileys. I am 5 stone lighter than I was in May, and should really concentrate on that...but mostly I would like to think about eating crisps, peanuts and sherry trifle.

Lovecycling · 04/12/2025 22:01

I’ve been struggling a bit. I upped dose from 8.5mg to 10mg 2 weeks ago and was so ill. 2 full nights of incredible trapped wind type pain in my tummy. I’m just getting back to normal now. I didn’t jab last Friday and I’m really unsure of what to do. I couldn’t work and don’t want to be off again. Has anyone else had a break? I’ve read online that after a 2 week break you should go back to 2.5mg but I’m worried that won’t be enough for me and cost a small fortune to get back to a better dose. Should I go down to maybe 7.5mg? Help please 🙏

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 04/12/2025 22:11

I am here, sorry for being a bit rubbish. Lovely to see how well everyone is doing and sorry to see those that have been poorly.

PinkScot · 04/12/2025 22:43

@Lovecycling that happened to me as I upped to 7.5mg I just went down to 5mg for a couple of weeks and then tried again and it was a bit better. Another thing to try is to change your jab day or time. Some people swear by night time jabbing for less SEs, and I you jab on a Friday your worst effects would be on the weekends if you work M-F?
I wouldn’t recommend a complete break or going too low just before Christmas, would be way too tempting for me anyway 😂

Placestogo · 04/12/2025 23:06

@Lovecycling i like to split my doses, makes the SE non existent- what about 5mg every 4 days? That would be a little bit less than 10mg in a week

what about @notgonnafail she was going to have a break?

Lovecycling · 04/12/2025 23:17

Thanks @PinkScot it’s good to know that temporarily going down a dose helped for you. I think I’ll jab Friday morning and hope to avoid SEs Monday to Friday.

Well done on getting to goal!!

@Placestogo splitting the dose sounds good too. Thanks!

SussexLass87 · 05/12/2025 10:05

Gah - another week of staying the same! Grr. Better than a gain though.

I'm off to London with some friends tomorrow for our annual lunch out so I'm planning what to order - it's amazing how normally I'd be so excited about the desserts and now they just don't appeal.

It's been 3 weeks ish without sugar and my skin is looking so much better, sleeping's better and absolutely no difference to my weight loss 😂

ElsieJay · 05/12/2025 11:12

@DidILeaveTheGasOn - great to hear from you ! Hope everything is going well xx
@SussexLass87 - I know what you mean about the desserts no longer appealing , just watching all the supermarket ads on tv at the moment turn me off completely.
Annoying that giving up sugar hasn’t as yet impacted on your weight, but the other benefits are huge - well done you !

Weighed in with WW earlier, stayed the same which I’m very happy with as last week’s 3lbs loss was mostly due to illness.
Have reverted to 2.5mg with plenty of suppression and no side effects 🥳.
Today’s WW talk was strategies for coping with Christmas and socialising in the run up to the big day. I’m resolved to dust off our soup maker and freeze single portions for quick, hot and easy lunches - DH not a soup fan.
Well done to the losers, maintainers , returners and all ! 🎅🏼🎄

SussexLass87 · 05/12/2025 13:52

@ElsieJay That's a really good point about the soup! I love a homemade soup and always feel quite saintly after eating one 😀 Thanks for the reminder.

ElsieJay · 05/12/2025 14:28

@SussexLass87 - we can be Domestic Goddesses😇 😇 presiding over the soup tureen!

SutekhsEars · 05/12/2025 14:52

Ooh I love a hearty homemade soup!
🍲

My HeySlim 5mg pen has just been approved. There was a bit of back & forth as my previous order was before the price rise, but they accepted my screenshots of other orders in the end.
Hopefully, this will be my last pen. My aim is to get to target on my current pen by mid-January (mince pies permitting) then titrate down on the new pen. 🤞

Kbr22 · 05/12/2025 20:58

Still here! I don’t post as much as I should but always reading and appreciate those that do. I got so much help a few weeks ago, re missing a jab as feeling ill. Do any of you know if I post on an iPad how do I make paragraphs?? I want to post but don’t want a long post without paragraphs. I seem to be only able to do this on my phone and due to arthritis in one hand I find that difficult! I would post more if I could work this out. If anyone has any answers I will definitely post and answer you all properly!!!!!! 😂

Placestogo · 05/12/2025 22:32

Nice to hear from (almost) everybody! Soon it will be our first year anniversary on the jab!!

i barely drunk alcohol between may and october and then in November it kind of crept up again. This week i drunk wine every day! Not good! And no wonder i STS.. from sunday im going back to only a couple of glass at the weekend. I need to biy fancy herbal tea instead. All these calories for being slumped in front of the TV.. Nope, no more of that…

Seahorsesplendour · 06/12/2025 06:20

Morning all & happy weekend!!

I went shopping!!!!!!

I was literally down to 1 pair of trousers & 2 pairs of leggings that were looking very saggy!!

went to one of the bigger charity shops & came out with leggings jeans & 3 new jumpers for £15!!

the thing that made me even happier than that was they were all size 16!!!!!!!!’

the trousers & leggings I’ve still been wearing were a 20!!!

I couldn’t believe how different I look!!

anyone else holding on to old baggy clothes I’d recommend a refresh it really brought it home how much my body has changed and gave me a real boost!

the jeans are a little snug so am now determined to get them comfy by Christmas which is a turn around fro holding on in here!!

Herewegoagain80 · 06/12/2025 09:39

@Seahorsesplendour

anyone else holding on to old baggy clothes I’d recommend a refresh it really brought it home how much my body has changed and gave me a real boost!

Exactly this!
I’ve been complaining how I’m 3 stone lighter but don’t look any different. Well that’s because I’m still wearing the same baggy clothes. I went out last night in a new skirt and top that’s the correct size for me. I turns out I’ve actually got a waist. I’ve still got a belly too 😂but it was such a confidence boost to be able to see a difference.

I hope party season gives everyone the chance to flaunt your new figures. We might not be exactly where we want to be but let’s celebrate how far we’ve come 😘

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 06/12/2025 11:05

25% off! If you'd told my May self that I'd lose 60lbs this year, I'd have scoffed in disbelief.

I am 1lb away from being in the unhealthy BMI category. That was my target for Christmas so if it happens by then I'll be over the moon. The weight loss has slowed right down because I'm drinking a lot of wine 😞 and eating a lot of mash and gravy. My new job is horrendous. I nearly posted on here recently but when I read it back, it was a long whinge so I deleted it.

Gingercar · 06/12/2025 13:41

I’m so sorry your new job isn’t good. But fabulous results! And never shy away from grumbling. We all do now and again. It’s a really supportive group.

ElsieJay · 06/12/2025 14:28

What a joyful post, @Seahorsesplendour , I could feel your happiness in every word.
Enjoy your new outfits !
@DidILeaveTheGasOn - well done on persevering, despite the issues with your new job - so easy to console ourselves with food and/or drink when life is being rubbish.
What is the job market like locally, could you find something that would suit you better ?
@Herewegoagain80 - glad you had a good night out in your new clothes , such a confidence booster. Sounds like you’re going to make the most of the party season !

Apprenante · 06/12/2025 18:47

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Whinge as much as you like! Your graph is fantastic and losing 25% of your weight is magic. It's very nice to have you back.

Apprenante · 06/12/2025 18:52

I generally jab on Wednesday but this week I forgot. I'll probably do it later but I'm still pretty uninterested in eating so might even leave it until tomorrow.
Shotsy says I've got leass than 3 mg in me. I'm hoping this bodes well for the future and titrating down. What do you think?

Apprenante · 06/12/2025 18:55

The 10lb to goal needs revising. I never thought I'd get this far ....

I hope the image loads.

HKG · 06/12/2025 20:43

So many positive stories on here today! Love them! @DidILeaveTheGasOn 25%?!?? Stupendous! @Apprenante 10lbs to goal - wowhee!!! @Seahorsesplendour those new clothes must feel amazing! Well done!!!

Im contemplating what to jab tonight - I’m away abroad for work from tomorrow to Thurs and usually jab tonight and feel awful tomorrow and Monday. I’m feeling bold from reading your stories and think I might jab 3.25 tonight and again when I’m back to split my dose. I’m currently on 6.25mg so this technically takes me up a little to 6.5mg but should be okay? And hopefully I won’t want to puke whilst trying to impress international
colleagues??? What do we think??

another sts for me this week but trying to be positive, only an average of 1.5lbs a week but I’d never have sustained it this long without MJ.

SussexLass87 · 06/12/2025 21:54

Oh congrats you lovely bunch! I'm so happy for all of you.

Vinted has been my friend with clothes - I've wanted to enjoy all the stages of this journey and feel good in what I wear. I'm now in the process of selling or donating my "in-between clothes" and replacing them with size 14s which is a lovely feeling.

I just got home from a day out in a city and chuffed to have friends who noticed and commented on the weight loss.

Funny that I wore quite a simple, plain outfit...quite different to my usual style of late. No hiding behind big billowy tops and scarves or having my hair down.

Home now to cups of tea and catching up on this thread x

Apprenante · 06/12/2025 22:44

@HKG That sounds like good idea.

@SussexLass so you're developing a whole new personal style .. brilliant.
