Mounjaro help please!!!

Hi, I’ve just literally started on the mounjaro 2.5mg kwik pen. However, I wanted to try half this amount first in view of possible side effects. I know it may not do anything and I will lose money but I’m sensitive to meds so this eases me in. I googled how many clicks for a full dose and it said 30 for the quick pen. So I did 15 clicks to make half. Now I’m reading others who say 60 clicks for the full dose! Is this correct? If so, and I’ve only had a 1/4, when can I do another injection? Thank you xxx

Each pen has 60 clicks for a full dose. So 30 is half a dose.

Also what is a quick pen?

Minimum of 3 days between jabs I believe but would also say that 2.5mg isn’t a “proper” dose as such, 5mg is the start of the therapeutic dose range. The 2.5mg is designed to give your body chance to adjust to the medication to minimize side effects. Once you move up, to minimize side effects, lots of water and keep your fiber and protein intake levels up

Since you've had a quarter of a dose, I don't see a problem with topping it up now. The minimum 3 days between doses is if you want to change your dose days and for standard full doses.
You won't lose money if you use it all up. Look up a golden dose, there are ways of using the whole pen up with syringes or the hard twist method with extra needles if it works.

Hi all, just to reiterate….are all the kwik pen full strengths 60 clicks? As i initially read if you want to have half a dose of a 5mg pen, it’s 30 clicks to get 2.5mg. So I thought my 2.5mg pen full strength was 30 clicks so only had 15 clicks! What am I missing?? 🤦‍♀️x

Yes, 60 clicks for the full dose on all pens.

Yes, all the pens contain one dose in 0.6ml of the liquid inside the pen.

That's 60 clicks.

In a 2.5mg pen the full dose is 60 clicks (0.6ml)

Likewise in the 5mg pen, the full dose of 5mg is 60 clicks (so still 0.6ml)

And so on, up the doses. I've been on 15mg for ages, and that's still 60 clicks (0.6ml)

Therefore, if you've injected 30 clicks from a 2.5mg pen, you've injected half a dose, not a quarter. A quarter dose would have been 15 clicks. 30 clicks from your 2.5mg pen is 1.25mg of MJ.

All pens are 60 clicks for a full dose. The medication strength is different in each pen - you don’t do different clicks per pen unless you are trying to change the dose in the pen you are using

@Iloveacuppatea I wouldn't mess about with the dose at such a low strength.

If you've had 15 clicks, that's only 0.625mg of MJ. That isn't anything like a therapeutic dose.

I'd just inject another 45 clicks now.

I did 4 weeks on 1.25 (which is 30 clicks from a 2.5 pen) to ease me in. Worked well for me.

If it’s a 2.5 pen you have, I’d just do another 15 clicks now.
