Sooo cold on Mounjaro

I’m freezinggg all the time on MJ! I’ve lost 2 stone in the 2 months I’ve been on it, but it’s not even the weight loss, as I’m BMI 25 - I’m not so skinny that I’d suddenly be feeling the cold more than everyone else because of my weight.

Need to source some thermals tomorrow!

I have this too
I lost 2.5 stone over 3 months, kept it off with micro dosing.
BMI sits at 23.5. - 24
I'm always cold....

Buscake · 25/10/2025 22:03

It’s all I seem to talk and think about :( my kids are taking the piss constantly. It can’t be weight loss because I’m bmi 24 so normal. But I’m in at least two pairs of thermal socks, long johns, thermal vest, top, jumper, slippers, heated blanket, fingerless gloves. It’s pretty miserable :(

addictedtotheflats · 25/10/2025 22:05

I'm absolutely freezing all the time😭😭 Ive lost 3st over 7 months but only noticed being this cold in the last 6 weeks or so. It's torturous

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 25/10/2025 22:09

Yep same here. I lost weight before on slimming world and felt colder when I was slimmer before, but it was next level on mounjaro.

insomniac1 · 25/10/2025 22:12

Same!!! I’m in turkey on holiday right now and it’s 23 degrees in the day and I’m still freezing in the evening. Have to wear a coat to dinner and everyone is in T shirts. It’s really bothering me.

MzHz · 25/10/2025 22:14

I’m 5.5st down. Last winter was horrid, am pretty worried about this one.

it apparently is a MJ thing, someone I know said he was freezing this time last year on MJ but he’s been off it now for a few months and says he ISNT as cold as he was before.

weird side effect huh?!, I have those turtle dove fingerless mittens, I wear bed socks and have hot water bottles, heated blankets on standby

if all else fails.. us MJ MNERs can propose huddling together like penguins for warmth 🐧🤣

I was in Greece in Sept, kept complaining at H about the bloody aircon, he was sweating.. I was wrapping myself up in the bathrobe 😆

JurassicPark4Eva · 25/10/2025 22:19

This will be my second winter on MJ and I'm MUCH colder this time round. I'm also 6 stone lighter, but my BMI is still over 30 so I'm hardly skin and bone!

I'm sitting on the sofa in boots, jeans, tshirt, down filled jacket and a blanket doubled up on my legs and I'm still cold.

I have the electric blanket out for WFH, and I'm tucking my tshirt into my trousers all the time 😂. I can't wear thin soled shoes, my feet get so cold they hurt. I'm wearing uggs in the house and hiking boots everywhere else.

I have to be suited and booted for a HQ visit in a few weeks and I have no idea how I'll cope if the air con is on in the office. Might just wear the damn down jacket in the conferences and to hell with them all.

I suspect I have Raynauds (predates MJ) as the soles of my feet go white...

GiveMeWordGames · 25/10/2025 22:21

It's honestly by FAR the weirdest side effect. I have always run hot, and then became a positive furnace with menopause and weight gain. I started MJ in late March and noticed within a couple of days that I felt colder than normal. But then the weather warmed up and all was good, I enjoyed not being a sweaty mess.

Now, though 🥶 🧊. It's mad.

strongermummy · 25/10/2025 22:30

Me too!
20kgs down and still on MJ. And OMG am I freezing 🥶

Hashimotos thyroid means I have a small window of tolerance anyway. But it is next level this year.

Must invest in a heated pad for my wfh and a heated throw to carry around the house!!!!

Mysticmaiden · 25/10/2025 22:48

I use an electric under blanket, the ones that go on a bed, but I fold it in half and use it on my sofa! Then have fluffy socks and a thick blanket over.
B&M have heated throws for £35, genuinely contemplating buying one.
I started MJ a year ago in Oct 24 and felt cold within days so it's not the weight loss as I've lost 1lb a week average, so quite slowly and it was there at the start. It could be due to a metabolism response or the dopamine disruption side effect. Last winter was bad enough and I'm a lot lighter now at bmi 23.3 and lost a lot of fat insulation 🙈

SilenceInside · 25/10/2025 22:56

This is me too. Almost since the first weeks really, so definitely not just to do with weight loss. I actually really like it, as one of the things I used to hate about being so massively overweight was always being hot and bothered. I enjoyed the summer without minding the heat at all. This time of year I start layering up and using microwave heat pads, rechargeable hand warmers, hot water bottles etc etc to keep warm.

FlowersFawb · 25/10/2025 22:57

I started MJ in January and I was bloody freezing its being in a calorie deficit that foes it. 10 months in now and 6 stone down and the chills are not as bad!

HappyWineDay · 26/10/2025 00:13

Gosh, so it’s not just me!
I often leave my coat on in the office. I’m always nithered. Always leave my socks on to go to bed too.
3st down and clearly missing the insulation! 😂

StrongLikeMamma · 26/10/2025 05:55

I’m only on week one and have been freezing! I had the heating on the other night and DH was boiling. I was Sat watching TV under a blanket.
Weirdly I’m usually the hot one!

Ha me too! From one extreme to another. My BMI is 24 but still pretty chunky, but I'll have to have a break again as it's not even winter properly yet.

PegDope · 26/10/2025 06:39

This is concerning.

It’s a massive sign of a slowing metabolism. Metabolic processes create heat. The slower they are the colder you get.

I have Hashimoto’s and I’m always freezing because my metabolism is slower than normal.

Id be quite concerned especially as you all have the same problem.

Anditstartedagain · 26/10/2025 06:43

It can be a sign of low blood sugar. I’ve found temperature changes a bit of a shock but after a couple of days I adjust.

gimmemounjaro · 26/10/2025 08:41

Same as everyone else - ordered some M+S thermals last night and Pachamama mittens and fingerless gloves this morning. Heated blanket at my desk, hot water bottle and cat for bedtime.

I’ve lost weight but my metabolism seems to be speeding up if anything as I’ve got fitter and musclier, so i don’t think it’s that. Maybe just less insulation 🤷‍♀️
