First jab has arrived!

My first pen has arrived!! So excited. But thinking I’m going to have to wait until Tuesday to start… we have friends coming tomorrow and I have to travel for work on Monday. Just in case I get a bad reaction.

Also, I have a really heavy period right now - which is making me wonder how people have found it affects their cycle? If at all?

I think that's sensible. Everyone's different in terms of side effects and you just don't know. You could get absolutely none but you might as well wait a couple of days.

I'm firmly in menopause so can't help with the cycle thing. But good luck! It's been transformative for me.

Forgot to say, I would recommend you find the October 25 starters thread for ongoing support and accountability from people at a similar point to you, if that's your thing (I've found it hugely helpful). And, depending on how much you have to lose, there are also continuing threads specifically for more than 5st and more than 10st.

What do you all do with your sharps boxes once your pen is finished?

Firstly unless you've been sent a teeny sharps box it should last more than one pen.

I think some councils collect them? TBH I'm not sure because I'm a bit of an outlier and get my MJ in person from a local independent pharmacy, so when mine needed changing I took it to them and they swapped it.
