I've been using MJ for about 3 months and have lost about a stone with a couple more to go. Last night I placed my order for a new 5mg pen and got an email response back from my usual supplier, that I've been using the entire time, for additional information- including sending them a new video of me on the scales and proof of i.d. Is this normal? I suppose it's good to prevent fraudulent use but it seems a bit onerous.

Did you have to provide ID etc for your first dose? They might be ensuring that they are compliant with regs for all of their clients in readiness for a GPhC inspection.

SilenceInside · 17/10/2025 09:45

They will likely just be prepping for a possible GPhC inspection as @VelociraptorsVelociRapping says. I don't think it will be anything personal to you.

My provider have started saying that they need updated evidence every 3 months so that would be in line with your experience. It will be so they can show they are doing their due diligence.

Mine does video calls every 6 months, every pharmacy will be slightly different but it’s not unusual to have to verify weight regularly.

Purplephase · 17/10/2025 17:45

I think that this is the way things are going. I expect that we'll all have to submit more evidence moving forward.

Thanks for all your replies, very illuminating. I don't own scales- I use ones in the bathroom at my work, and I don't broadcast my use of weight loss medication, so I guess I'll need to find a way round this myself. I filmed my initial video with my husband in Boots. A pretty horrible experience as I'd not weighed myself for a few years.

Easiest thing is to buy a set of scales they are cheap, mine are Renpho, and stick them away in a cupboard/in the loft when not needed if you don’t want a set out at home.
