Are these air bubbles at the bottom or part of the syringe??

They are fine. You aren’t injecting into a vein, and you would need an air bubble of significant size to cause any issues even if you were.

They are tiny air bubbles but too small to worry about.

I’ve just zoomed in a got this, which looks loads of bubbles. This the second time I’ve tried to do the extra dose from a pen and just can’t get it right!

Again, those are too tiny to be an issue. As PP says, you'd need to be injecting an entire syringe of air directly into a vein to be an issue.

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 09/10/2025 14:53

Is this what other people have when they do the extra dose then?
Ive wasted it now as got a bit freaked out, you hear so much about getting rid of the air bubbles that I assumed that meant literally nothing could be in there?

I’ve extracted the remaining medication many times now. If you hold the syringe upright and flick, repeat a few times, you can usually get the largest bubbles to rise to the top and then remove them. Tiny bubbles like that are not going to be an issue. You’re injecting subcutaneously, not into a vein. The risk of air bubbles is creating a painful bump that may take a while to go down, rather than getting an air embolism in a vein.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 09/10/2025 15:43

These are absolutely fine!! It’s a subcutaneous injection so even bigger bubbles are irrelevant!

LaGioiosanotLeviosa · 09/10/2025 16:12

Thanks all, I shall try again in a months time now 🤦🏻‍♀️
Next pen is a 7.5 so don’t want to waste that extra dose!

The big gap at the top is the air bubnle you want to get rid of. So press the plunger till a bit of liquid comes out the needle, them your good to go.. the rest is fine.. shame you've wasted it now. But next time just go for it..
