MJ arrived not very cold?!

My pen arrived this morning and it doesn’t feel very cold and the ice packs were no longer frozen. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday but I wasn’t home, so I assume it’s just been sitting unrefrigerated at the PO. Any advice??

It is likely to have been between 2 and 8 degrees, even if it was in the post office delivery room for an additional day, with the ice packs and the insulating packaging. If you put it straight in the fridge when you unpacked it, then it is likely to be absolutely fine.

I've had probably 15 deliveries and only 2 have arrived with still frozen ice blocks. It is not unusual for them to be defrosted but still cool.

48hrs (some say 72hrs in cooler months) in the cold packaging is usually ok.

This is why I didn’t sign up for delivery but with Asda pick up from pharmacy. The last one I got from the pharmacy was not cold at all, their fridge had broken, I only realised it was room temp when I got home to put it in the fridge. I’ve spent 2 weeks trying to get this sorted. They sent me back to pharmacy who I assumed knew I was going, but didn’t. Whilst discussing with them the pen was not chilled and them insisting it had been kept properly the pharmacist finally said “well it’s fine to keep it out of the fridge whilst your using it” (I wasn’t using it straight away) I knew then the pen hadn’t been stored in a fridge! They are posting another pen after I’ve returned the dodgy one and when they get round to reading that I have returned it- messages take 4 days to be responded to!!. I’m now considering delivery from somewhere else so recommendations welcome.

@knottywig Swift live up to their name and have so far approved and sent out pens very rapidly. Arrived next day with solid frozen ice packs. Although to be fair every provider I have used has sent out with ice packs that were still frozen on arrival. So far I’ve used Asda, Zava, Pharmacy2U and WePrescribe before Swift. I’m sticking with Swift for the foreseeable future I think.
