Mounjaro thyroid lump

i’ve been on MJ for 12 months prescribed by the doctor for diabetes. Have also lost around 22kg so happy days. Except I’ve found a lump at the base of my throat … saw the doctor and she has me on the urgent 2 week pathway for cancer for an ultrasound … has anyone had similar issues? I know there is a warning re thyroid lumps and a study showed cancer in rodents but not in primates or humans. I’m obviously worried ….

I know you must be worried but you won’t get any answers until you’ve been seen by the hospital.

For what it’s worth, my friend has just had a lump checked for fear of it being thyroid cancer and she’s not on Mounjaro - you may find it’s nothing to worry about like her, and it may be disconnected from the Mounjaro, like in her case.

Thanks for responding. I was just a bit taken aback by the doctor …. I said I’d read there was a risk of thyroid issues with Mounjaro and she replied ‘it’s not thyroid issues its thyroid cancer!’ … anyway fingers crossed I hear from the hospital soon, just not good at not knowing
