Needles for mounjaro

Where do you get your needles for mounjaro please? I don't mean pen needles but insulin type needles thanks

I get them from UK Medi, but there are lots of online pharmacies that sell them.

I use the same as what's been posted already.. purple caps on them. I've been using them the whole time for over a year, I use the bonus dose from every pen.

I buy mine from Amazon, as they’re the only ones I could find that were 6mm (rather than 8mm). Never had any issues with them:

I have ordered the needles above from ukmedi. Is that all i need to use the golden dose?

@popdepop have you got alcohol swabs to clean the end of the pen? Nothing else needed.

@popdepop clean the end of your pen with an alcohol swab, then insert the needle into the end of the pen and slowly draw back on the syringe plunger until you have the desired amount of MJ in the syringe, plus a bit extra for prepping. Hold the syringe upright and tap to get any air bubbles to the top, then depress the plunger to expel the excess amount, then inject as normal.

Has anyone bought a pen attachment to use on a Mounjaro pen to use only half a dose each time you twist the pen? I’m looking online but not sure which one would fit the Eli lily pen.

@RockChik does the cover on those needles you buy from Amazon state the needles are sterile? I can see that stated on my Amazon page.

@TheGreyBee you don’t need an attachment to do a half dose, you just need the normal pen needles and you just turn the dial half way instead of all the way to the 1 position.

@SilenceInside thank you for your comment. What I am thinking of doing by twisting the Mounjaro pen only half way for each dose, means I will either need a few insulin needles or a needle that attaches to the pen.

Yes but we don’t get more than one spare needle with each pen.

If you need extra pen needles and you don’t have any spare sent to you by your pharmacy, you can order them online. They are universal and will fit any injection pen including the Eli Lilly Kwikpen.

I must be the only person that regularly gets sent 6 or so pen needles when I order a pen rather than exactly 4. After two years taking Mounjaro I have loads spare.

I’ve never been sent a needle with my pen from the Pharmacy I buy from. (I can’t shop around as I have a GP prescription)

I had to buy a box of 100 needles when I ordered my first pen last year plus a sharps box and a 100 pack of wipes too. It was an expensive first order!

I usually get sent 5. I bought a box of 100 when I started taking a reduced dose from a higher dose pen, but now use syringes all the time as I much prefer them. So I have more than I know what to do with!
