89 days to lose a stone by Christmas 🎅

89DaysToLoseIt · 27/09/2025 10:16

I have been losing weight for over a year now. I have lost over seven stone, feel amazing and I cannot believe my life has changed as much as it has. However, the vast majority of that loss was in the first eight months. I have hovered around the top end of 15 stone for the last three months, but that has been through a really stressful period in my life (it was basically three months of back to back shit- I had professional eats, my dad was poorly and I had surgery so had 6 weeks off any form of exercise), so I see maintaining during this period as a win.

However, I'm determined to get back on it. After recently venturing up to 15mg and realising it did f all for me, I am split dosing 10mg across a week. It has worked, in the first week of doing it I am 5 pounds down (likely all water weight, but still!), I am 4 days before my period and still losing.

I would like to be a stone lighter than I am now by Christmas - 14 stone 8.2. I think that would be very good progress. I am determined to get back to eating well, I am starting at a new gym on Monday that runs classes, so I feel more motivated than ever to get on it.

This weekend's goals are to meal prep, reset my space (because I think mental and physical wellbeing go hand in hand), make sure I'm hydrated enough, and get prepped for the week ahead, while also going on a couple of long walks.

Anyone else want to come along for a little accountability group?

Yep, I'm in! I've just recommitted myself after about 6 weeks of half-hearted dieting and (unsurprisingly) no weight loss.

I feel positive about doing this again but am not setting a goal weight, I'll take whatever.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 28/09/2025 16:48

I’ll join you. I could do with some accountability. I’ve been finding it a bit harder lately to stay on track. I struggle between having a dose that works and balancing side effects so at the moment it is a very low dose and willpower but hoping I can up the dose a little. I’m only taking 1.25mg a week as more than that and reflux gives me a horrible feeling in my throat. Still, Even that has been amazing as I’m 2.5 stone down since May and I wouldn't have managed to do that without MJ.

I’ve been a bit slacker with exercise lately but I’ve just got a walking pad so hoping that will help me get a few extra steps in ( I wear a weighted vest) especially with the weather worsening and evenings getting darker. I usually go for long walks in the park but I won’t be doing that in the dark. I’ll aim for a stone by Christmas but secretly hoping I can do a bit more.

good luck everyone

@89DaysToLoseIt you’ve done amazingly well already.

I’m joining in . Started March and 2lb from a 4st loss . Aiming for 1-1.5 st by Christmas

can I ask did you go straight from 15mg to 10mg , and do you split it 5mg 4 or 5 days apart?
im asking as on my 5th week of 12.5 although it’s still working I feel the strange side effects (anxiety and flue like symptoms day after jab) and therefore a bit worried about going up to 15mg as I didn’t have SE before this dose, but still have 2st to go so if I can lower the doses but take it more often it could work better ?

BerfyTigot · 28/09/2025 21:00

@89DaysToLoseIt how did you get on today? I managed to stick to a reasonable diet today which I'm pleased about.

I'd be delighted with a stone by xmas! 🤞

Yellowsubmarine55 · 29/09/2025 12:08

I'm definitely in, my goal is 10st and I'm currently 11st 3 ! Lost 4 stone since end of March which I'm chuffed about but still look chunky as I'm only 5'2".

We've got this everyone.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 30/09/2025 10:11

Morning everyone, hope you all had a good day yesterday.

I managed an average of 14,000 steps for the last 3 days. My lovely husband got a walking pad for me. Hoping that will help me bump up my steps over winter as I don’t think I’ll be having long walks in the park as often. I am just into the overweight category with another 13.3kg to get to a healthy BMI. Hopefully I’ll be halfway there by Christmas but I have a few mini targets along the way to help with the motivation.

I have been laid up by a cold! Bonus is the weight must be coming off because I can’t eat. Negative is I can’t use the toilet so I’ve not weighed myself!

went to a new gym yesterday and hit 13k steps. Aiming to go tonight and do an arm workout.

Could you share which one you have please, looking to get one myself. Thank you!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 30/09/2025 10:51

@Yellowsubmarine55 it says citysports on it but don’t know exact model it goes up to 6mph. My husband knew I wanted one and a colleague of his didn’t get on with theirs and was getting rid of it so they kindly gave it to us. Have a look on Facebook marketplace place as they seem to be a bit marmite so worth trying to look for one secondhand. The handle bit on mine folds down so I can use it under my standing desk but I need to work my way up to that.

UtahYellowstone · 30/09/2025 21:47

Cam I join pleaseee?

Iv been on MJ for nearly a year. Iv lost just over 6 stone and I have about 15lbs left that I would like to lose..

Weight loss is really slow now too.... 1lb a week at most! I'm very busy with work and social things a lot which doesn't help as they all involve food!

BerfyTigot · 30/09/2025 23:23

Bit disappointed today because ive been trying really hard for the past 4 days and am only down 0.2kg! Barely anything!

Ive tried not to let it affect my mood today, but it's been on my mind. Ive been hungrier and have been eating more than I was when I was consistently losing and hot food like stews rather than salads. But even so, it's surprising how little I've lost.

Hope everyone else is doing a bit better.

Bipaloss · 05/10/2025 09:59

1.5lb loss this week (1lb away from a 4st loss since March) . 15lb more as goal for Christmas (11 weeks)

Yellowsubmarine55 · 05/10/2025 10:45

I'm feeling very frustrated, just staying the same this week but I guess it's not going up ! I've had constipation issues and a revisit from endometriosis pain so I haven't been able to do much exercise as it's like a really bad period 10 times over ☹️

Onwards to next week.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 06/10/2025 08:08

Weigh day, 0.5kg loss this week. Tempted to up my dose a bit as I’m finding it harder to keep on track lately. I struggle with an unpleasant feeling like I have something stuck in my throat so I dropped my dose right down so I only take 15 clicks twice a week but I think I might up it to 20 clicks twice a week and see how that goes for a few weeks.

89DaysToLoseIt · 06/10/2025 08:09

Maintained this week.

pissed off but I was also poorly, and on my period. So we go again.

Weighed yesterday and I'm down 1kg - really pleased

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 13/10/2025 09:41

Down 1.35kg this week. I have spent all week decorating our new extension and not really stopping properly for meals so it was always likely to be a bigger than usual loss.

UtahYellowstone · 13/10/2025 10:38

lost 2lbs last week but STS this week. argh!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 20/10/2025 08:19

Stats to help me keep track of the stone before Christmas challenge.

Start of challenge 80.65kg
Current weight 78.4kg
Christmas target weight 74.3kg
2.25kg
3 weeks complete out of 12

So I’m on track nicely.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 27/10/2025 08:10

Current weight 77.8kg so 0.6kg loss this week, still nicely on track.

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 03/11/2025 08:52

STS this week. I blame Halloween, too many chocolates lying around the house. How’s everyone else doing?
