Supplements whilst on MJ - Recommendations

After dithering for MONTHS I've finally started Mounjaro! Did my first 2.5mg jab on Sunday, and so far so good. Got great suppression and no side effects so far.
I've got minimum 3st to lose to get me to healthy BMI, ideally 4st to get back to where I was pre-dc and pre-sedentary job.

I'm struggling this week to get calories in, first couple of days I barely scraped 800 per day. I'm aware that isn't good and am making an effort to get up to 1200/1300 per day. I'm particularly struggling to get enough protein and am asking for recommendations from the pros who've been on MJ and had success with protein supplements and whatever else has worked for you all!

@Caledoniablue i have lost 2 stone so far in 4 months and I take Biotin and collagen glow up powder (use nutrition geeks as they are good quality and reasonably priced). I also take a vitamin D which I was doing anyway.

Hi @Counrycan you send me a link to those please?

i’ve lost about 3st. Down to 9st9. But have recently had some major hair loss, hence interested in anything to prevent that!!

OP, I’ve done well on MJ. Congratulations on starting your journey. I lost weight on the lowest dose and stayed low for a long time.

I was already taking vitamin d3, k2, omega 3 and magnesium.
I have added creatine (5g a day) as that is recommended by all nutrition / women’s fitness people (like dr Stacy sims).

And after some recent blood tests to check my nutrition status (I use Medichecks for this) I’ve realised I’m low in folate, b12 and vitamin d so I’m adding a complex b vitamin and increasing my vitamin d.

I started this month with collagen, biotin, iron, d+K2, magnesium, b12 and adhesngamda. I’m going to add zinc.

taken Mounjaro since jan and lost 50lb today 🥳
I went to the GP due to menopause and she said that combination it is ideal and to add the zinc and it will make me feel better in a few mi the without HRT

It cost £70 from nutrition geeks for 6 months supply

2st in 4 months is amazing, well done! I'm so hopeful I can do the same. Did you have to move up the doses quickly? Thank you for the recommendation, I'm worried about hair loss as I tend to lose a lot anyway so will definitely add in biotin and collagen.

Thanks all, @Counrywill protein looks really good, will definitely be ordering. Think I'll do that with biotin and collagen and see how I get on.
Feeling motivated seeing how much you've all lost, can't wait for the day I can say I'm 9st something 😁

@Caledoniablue I am on 5mg stayed on 2.5mg for 3 months. I am trying to use a combination of willpower and MJ so hopefully easier to maintain! Still have 2 stone to lose.

Counry · 25/09/2025 20:51

Aww good luck @Caledoniablue ,it will all be worth it, I feel completely different, as well as looking it. I think about what I'm eating rather than just eating and drinking mindlessly now. I never thought this time last year, or even in February when I started, I would feel and look like I do now. It has been hard work still but the mj makes it sooooo much easier.
