Starving on Wegovy

Took a 2 month break from MJ and was started on Wegovy 0.25 and have been so hungry. I feel like eating everything in sight. And constipated.

I’ve actually double dosed this week to 0.5 to see if it makes a difference, but it doesn’t seem so.

Has anyone else found WG to be less effective? Should I persevere with it and continue titrating up hoping it’ll improve?

Yes. I’ve been on 0.5mg for a few months and my weight has plateaued. Also feeling a bit hungrier. So going to have to increase the dose I think.

Is it just that WG is less potent? Or that, even with a break, I’ve still got some resistance I wonder

WG is less effective, that’s what the literature says and why MJ was so popular.

however you’re on a tiny dose! You know these drugs, that take to build up in your system. Wait till you’re on 2mg+ before you judge it

I'm pretty sure some prescribers suggest you start on a higher dose of you've already been on a high dose of MJ. But some might make you start from the lowest dose. Depends what dose you were on on mj, but possibly need 1mg + to have a similar effect

I found wegovy not very effective and it made me horribly constipated. It's weird because I lost weight on ozempic without really trying, but although wegovy is a higher dose it didn't work as well. Maybe because the first stone or so was the freebie since it is always the easiest to lose!

I was on 5mg MJ then stopped back in July. Noman suggested .25 to start with. It might be worth comparing the prices of the larger dose WG to the lesser MJ at this rate.

Yes exactly. Changing to Wegovy from MJ because of price is only going to benefit us if the lower doses of wegovy are effective. The highest dose of wegovy costs more than the medium dose of MJ.

Mounjaro is definitely more effective than Wegovy. I was on Ozempic when I lost most of my weight and then switched to Wegovy and plateaued for quite a while. Switched to Mounjaro and the weight slowly started to come off again.

And constipation was a big issue for me with Ozempic and Wegovy but isn’t with Mounjaro so I’m reluctant to change back to Wegovy.

But you are on a low dose and will definitely need to increase before you see any results. Fill up on protein and lots of fibre and drink lots of water.
