5th Dose Injection

Sorry if this is a really daft question. When administering the 5th dose do you still push the needle all the way in with it being longer than the needle on the pen?

yes, well I do

MrsMiagi · 17/09/2025 20:07

I use the same length needle, didnt occur to me to get longer ones!

Doggymummar · 17/09/2025 20:08

Mine are 8mm but I made a stopper so I just use 4mm

Snozzlemaid · 17/09/2025 20:44

I don’t. I use longer needles and just push it part way in.

Mysticmaiden · 17/09/2025 21:41

I use 12mm syringes as they were super cheap, less than £5 for 10 from an online pharmacy and I oush half way in.
The skin is thick though especially in fatty areas so I wouldn't worry.

Depends how much fat you have. I could easily push it all the way in when I was bigger as I had plenty of fat on my stomach. Less so now, so I pinch a bit of fat and put it in there. You can also put the needle in at an angle.
This is what they recommend for the 8mm and bigger needles.

HeidiLite · 18/09/2025 09:24

I don't, but am at goal and have very little fat left.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/09/2025 12:06

I use an 8mm and yes just shove it all the way in.

I think I used to go in at a slight angle in the early days but, 15 months in, now I just push the needle in.

Also use 8mm needles. Whilst they're double the length of the pen needles they're still tiny, so yes, they go in all the way for me.
