2.4 Wegovy straight to 12.5 Mounjaro

Hi all,
I’ve been on Wegovy for 18 months and have lost around 3 stone but really plateaued recently and wanted to switch to Mounjaro. My provider has sent the first dose at 12.5mg but I’m worried going straight in this high might cause really bad side effects. Has anyone switched from max dose Wegovy straight to max dose Mounjaro?

That does sound like quite a strong start on a drug you haven't tried before.
Personally I found the increase from 10 to 12.5 the biggest jump of all. A lot more indigestion and nausea.
Can you get a proper medical second opinion (as opposed to the lovely people on Mumsnet!). Perhaps a local pharmacy. Ask to speak to the pharmacist. Most have private consultation cubicles where you can speak quietly to the pharmacist.

Who is your provider? I’d like to know about switching

I understand that if you’re on the max 1.7g dose of Wegovy then the equivalent dose is either the 12.5 or the 15mg dose of Mounjaro? Do you really want to start at 2.5 mg and work your way up again when it’s around £200 per pen?
I would try the first injection of 12.5mg see how you get on if that’s what you’re provider has recommended. Alternatively, if you’re still worried why not just turn the pen halfway (30 clicks) and try half a dose for the first few weeks and then increase later on?
