OK on 5mg, Stalled on 7.5mg Now what do I do?

So I've only been on Mounjaro since the beginning of July and have not seen miraculous weight drop but admittedly I only needed to lose about 2-2.5 stone. Still, on 2.5mg and then on 5mg it worked out that I lost about a 1lb a week (a little more on 5mg) until now. I took my 2nd dose of 7.5mg on Saturday (even changing injection site to my arm) and have not lost anything at all - I don't even feel the same suppression a I felt on the 5mg dose. I am stuck at 11st 7lb. My quandary is I am due to buy my next pen in a week - so before this 4 week course finishes - but what should I do? Going up to 10mg is a massive price hike (I bought my 7.5mg just before the price increases) and a gamble in case it does the same as 7.5mg ; do I persevere with 7.5mg; or do I drop back down to 5mg? I suppose I could even drop down the clicks of this 7.5mg but I feel it's probably worth carrying on in case it is just taking a while to kick in. Any advise would be much appreciated.

Are you also counting calories ? It could be if the suppression hasn't been as strong you might have eaten slightly more than you did on 5mg. Even a couple hundreds calories over your budget would prevent loss. The WLI don't cause weight to come off, they suppress appetite enough to aid you in a calorie deficit. If the suppression on the 7.5 isn't working for you, you could try lowering the clicks on your next dose to 5mg, if that's works you have your answer, if not you can always take the other 2.5 in clicks a few days later so you're still getting the full dose. I would do this first to get more understanding of what's going on. But either way I would order a 10 pen. You'll get more doses from it and you can choose how much your body needs. Me for example, 2.5 did nothing 5 was too much, but 3.5 was great 🤷🏻‍♀️ x

If you're not already start counting calories on an app and ensure you're always within your budget x

How are you getting on with the basics - being in a sufficient calorie deficit, eating enough protein/at every meal, minimising sugar/simple carbs/UPF, drinking at least 2L of water, etc? Exercising if you can.

All these are much more important information than the dose you are on - all the dose will do is help you to achieve these if you are struggling with them, but you need to know if you are.

If you were feeling suppression on the 5mg why did you go up to 7.5? I'm taking my last dose tomorrow and then I'm done. I never went above 5, have been on it since late Jan this year. For my last three pens I bought the 7.5, only ever did 40 clicks taking me to 5mg and making each pen last about 7/8 weeks. Personally I would do this, but of course it depends if your provider allows you to order more sporadially.

Those are really helpful answers. Thankyou. Using the higher dosage pens with less clicks certainly appeals to me. I'm assuming if the pen stays in the fridge then it lasting longer isn't an issue? I do try to calorie count and stick to protein rich meals and drinking plenty of water. Exercising is a bit more difficult because I have spondylosis of the spine which gets in the way of anything more strenuous than walking. To be honest, I think I moved up to 7 5mg because I wasn't satisfied with just a 1lb a week. Just greedy I suppose but it's obviously backfired on me, especially as the price increase hit just after. But I do think I may go down the less clicks route....I don't know why I didn't think of trying 40 clicks with this pen. It seems obvious now it's been suggested. Thanks again.

OP, you'll get a lot of mixed advice on this. Some people won't go past the 30 days but plenty do too. Just make sure it's kept in the fridge and it'll be fine. Each pen has 240 clicks so just make sure you have some insulin needles in maybe for the last 2 doses as the pen will come to the end of its clicks before the liquid is used. Worked perfect for me, taking my last dose tonight and then I'm done.

Much appreciated. Many congratulations on meeting your target😊
