Thread 2 because we have reached our goal weights and we want to maintain not regain. We might be going cold turkey or titrating down or staying on!

Can't believe we filled up a whole thread! Welcome to thread 2.

On a positive note to start us off, I've lost 1lb of the two that I gained from my autumnal apple crumble caper. Filling full of resolve and pleased to know I can gain a pound or two (which is of course completely normal) and then lose them again.

Hello, I stopped MJ just over a month ago having reached my goal weight and annoyingly my joint pain has come back slowly. Ive gone from happily exercising and doing squats to not being able to do any. Has anyone else found this since stopping? I wasn’t sure if I should start a new thread but thought here was probably a good place to ask people if they have found the same, hope that’s okay?

This is my fear! I have autoimmune thyroid disease and I've felt so good on mj. I gave up gluten 5 years ago and that has had a huge impact on my fatigue, but I feel like I have so much get up and go on mj.
I'm now a regular at the gym (again!) and I feel so capable. Some of that may be from the weight loss and also eating less sugar, although I definitely eat more now that I'm only on 2.5mg and I feel if I reduce further the sugar will ramp up. I'm also waiting for an ADHD assessment so if I end up on medication for that it may help to target my sugar addiction also... Either way I'm in no rush to stop and will also be a Pharmulous customer once I've used the pens in my fridge.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2025 09:38

Yes def more aches in hips now on 10 from 15. Next week im drooling to 7.5

if I was rich I would stay on 15 for hip pain rather then weight loss

Azuresky68 · 17/09/2025 08:02

@Blondeshavemorefun and @Choux Pharmulous sounds great. I have 3 pens in stock, so I probably don't need to sign up with them yet? Will keep them in mind for sure 👍

I had two full and one part used pens in the fridge before my Pharmulous order. I needed to become their customer now as my BMI is c24 which is their cut off for new customers.

I bought a 10 this week, and my current plan is to get a 7.5 next month and then a 5mg and then take a break while using my stocks and reducing my doses. I should then be able to restart if needed after I have used all my stockpile and they will think I have had a break.

Had a really long chat with Dr Amel from pharmolous Very helpful

She said I had done really well to lose almost 7s and doing the long game of slowly lowering which should help me in the long run

They don't advise to just stop as hunger will come back and likely to gain but also said they understand it's a financial thing esp with the price hike

They dont do discounts and just have a price for each dose and free p&p

Confirmed happy to use them even if I don't order for a few months as long as can show proof been using /buying elsewhere

They will support maintenance to a healthy bmi 20 but if get too low then will stop

If stop mj have a year to get back on if start gaining from the last order with them and then would start 2.5

Happy to take on new customers as long if in healthy bmi and proof have been on mj

Any queries pop them an email or go to their chat section on website

They do seem helpful and one of the lowest prices - which they are not changing. So these are set in stone and as I said previously free p&p - which arrived the next day

2.5 - 139.99
5 - 164.99
7.5 - 214.99
10 - 239.99
12.5 - 259.99
15 - 274.99

They can't agree with micro dosing 😉 as no trials but said obv some do it as buy a 10 but use it for over the 5w and don't order for 8+w then come back , so they know people do do it - just they can't agree with it

She did ask why I went up a dose monthly and I said as that's what the supplier I was with said - plus they say on go up monthly of no side effects

She said they say if losing weight and all fine and have suppression to stay on the dose

I did say I didn't really get suppression and even on 15 ate 3 meals a day but obv do eat less or wouldn't have lost almost 7s

Azuresky68 · 17/09/2025 11:44

@sylv165 I also follow someone on Tik Tok. Everything I have ordered on her recommendation has been really good. Just received some totally impractical chunky cream suede boots...absolutely love them ❤️ If you are on Tik Tok she's called Mrs Mac Jo McCarthy 👍

Azuresky68 · 17/09/2025 11:53

@Blondeshavemorefun thanks for all that really helpful information 👍 I have 3 full pens of 10. 2 doses left of 12.5. My BMI varies between 23.6 and BMI 24.
Just wondering if I need to register with them now so I can get a pen when I run out December/January or wait until nearer the time? I keep all the prescription part of my boxes as evidence. Would rather wait if I can but don't want to risk not having a pen, especially after Christmas.

Azuresky68 · 17/09/2025 11:56

@Choux thanks for the info. I will hopefully be able to wait before ordering as I don't intend to go much below 24 BMI - see my reply to @Blondeshavemorefun

MargoLivebetter · 17/09/2025 12:01

Thank you @Blondeshavemorefun really useful info from your consultation with Pharmalous.

They will happily take anyone on over bmi 21 as long as proof - so no need to join them now @Azuresky68

but I like their approach more then Ousch

@MargoLivebetter " I think some other posters found that as they got closer to their goal or even passed it, they had to drop doses, as the side effects got worse on the higher doses"
That probably makes sense. For the same dose, if you weigh less, then your dose per kg of bodyweight is higher, if you see what I mean.

You would think but how does this explain someone who is for example over 20st starting and can stay on 2.5mg with good suppression compared to me starting at 13st and went upto 15mg due to low suppression and satiety wearing off quickly? I was prediabetic though.
I'm definitely as in the quote, had to come down as it got far too strong. Now at 10mg.

MargoLivebetter · 18/09/2025 08:49

@Mysticmaiden I honestly don't know! From my time on the August2024 starters threads, of which there were many threads and many posters, it seemed that there were so many diverse reactions to MJ. Some people had to quit within a few weeks of starting it because their reactions were so extreme, others had to go all the way up to the highest dose and still didn't achieve great suppression - those being the two extremes, with pretty much everything else in between.

I think there are so many factors at play with the different hormones we all have and to what extent they are or are not functioning that a great deal more research needs to be done.

Nice to see some familiar names from the January starters thread here!

@sylv165 I’m another very similar to you. 5ft 3 so slightly taller but I started at 12st 2 and now hovering between 8st 8-10 😃

Also have a Vinted addiction right now! Autumn is my favourite time for dressing so I’m really excited to be buying some nice bits!!

sylv165 · 18/09/2025 09:10

@discovi love autumn dressing too, jackets and boots and cosy jumpers! I love that being slimmer has given me back my love of fashion. I had got to the stage of making zero effort because I just looked frumpy and dumpy everything!

Choux · 18/09/2025 09:21

My diary: (a la Bridget Jones)
Weight: 10st 4 (was 10st 2 yesterday but then I ate a piece of bread)
Current MJ dose: 7.5mg (max dose in weightloss was 15mg)
Vinted purchases received this week: 2 (a coat and a coordinating bag)

I am starting to (dare to) hope that I may have developed the beginnings of some new food habits. I have done two weeks on 7.5mg down from 10mg and have found the appetite and food cravings to be less than I feared. Evening snacking was always my downfall and I just haven’t done it at all or - if I knew I was genuinely hungry - have had one of my healthier options. It’s still early days but so far dropping down a dose has been ok.

Same!! I now actually look at everything in the shops as I’m not skimming over things to find the one ‘flattering’ dress which is the right shape/length/has sleeves etc. And everything I’ve tried on has looked nice!! It is a bit of a weird thing to get my head around, and I still pick up smaller sizes and think it looks tiny then they fit perfectly. But equally I am trying to be restrained and only buy things I love and will wear a lot, because it would be very easy for me to go mad and buy too much 😄

Snap. I even took a 20mg bonus dose from a 15 mg pen. No problems at all which is why I am amazed that I am doing ok maintaining on 7.5mg.

Tarragon123 · 18/09/2025 16:54

Afternoon everyone, I have slightly fallen off the wagon. I finished my pen on 1st Sept. I'm not buying anymore. I was titrating down to 5 and I finished on 17 clicks. However, I had quite a few social occasions and have drunk a lot of alcohol. Not a good combination and I have put on 5lbs. My BMI is up to 26.5. So, I'm knuckling under and logging everything on MFP. No alcohol for the next two weeks and possibly longer.

The good news is that I'm not starving hungry. That was a real concern. I feel hungry approaching meal times and thats fine.

I've also really increased my physical activity.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/09/2025 17:11

The 5lbs will come off in 2/3w don’t panic @Tarragon123

Is anyone else struggling with a feeling of being somehow 'artificial'? I keep thinking that this body I'm in is so temporary and only the way it is because of the drugs, which I'm going to start tapering off. It's a mindset I need to change.

Iwouldratherbemuckingout · 18/09/2025 20:58

Yes, I understand what you mean. I wake up every morning and have to check I’m not suddenly fat again! It feels like I’ve borrowed someone else’s body, it’s going to take a while to accept this is me. I cant believe I’m a size 10, and that it’s me in the mirror. Taking time to titrate down and slowly increase calories to limit risk of weight gain.
