Can't believe we filled up a whole thread! Welcome to thread 2.

On a positive note to start us off, I've lost 1lb of the two that I gained from my autumnal apple crumble caper. Filling full of resolve and pleased to know I can gain a pound or two (which is of course completely normal) and then lose them again.

@Incognitoburrito88 1lb is tiny and whilst it is annoying seeing a gain, I honestly think a 1lb or 2 either side both up and down is inevitable. Our bodies are going to fluctuate slightly. Your plan for the week ahead looks very sensible. You may even found the 1lb is gone by tomorrow morning! Love that you are excited to train for and do a marathon!!!!!

@sussex1975 I buy my syringes from Amazon. I can't do clicks (for no reaons other than I worry I will miscount or mess it up), so I always use a syringe. I get the micro fine needles, which is a 32g. They come in sterile sealed individual packs.

I've had another good week on the 1.25 dose. I've made an effort to get my steps in and do my body weight exercises too. I'm 2lb below goal. However, the best thing continues to be the lack of food noise. I do get some food thoughts but they disappear very quickly and even though I have the thought, I don't have that relentless nagging to do anything about it, so it just pops in to my mind and then it goes again.

Thank you.. now a silly question.... I know how many clicks I need... etc... but how do I work out how much liquid I need if I will draw it out with a syringe?

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2025 08:53

@sussex1975 the link that @tostaky posted for you earlier should do all the calculations for you. If you go down to the bottom it tells you how many units from a syringe you need.

Fantastic. What syringes do people use please?

I got mine from SHD medical. Have you never used the remaining liquid. I must have saved 4 pens worth in 13 months so possibly £500-800! They are 12mm but I only put it in half way. Cost less than £5 delivered for 10. Some use ukmedi for 8mm syringes but they were 9.99 last time I checked.
No I tapered from 15mg because it was too strong for me, I was like a zombie and could barely eat which happened as soon as I hit bmi 25. it's like my prediabetes was resolved and my insulin sensitivity increased so I kept coming down the doses because they were too strong! I'm now bmi 22.9 because I've lost another 7lbs since tapering down!

Do you have a buffer? ie - a few lbs that you can go in between before full blown panic mode sets in? Mine is 2lb. Asking because that 1lb could just be because you need to go to the toilet, or you haven't drunk enough water, or eaten too much salt, or had a particular hard workout and you are storing water in your muscles, or time of the month, or, or.....

Point being that if you know you've done the right thing it's most likely to be any of the above things. And we need to refrain our brains a little not to panic (I'm right there with you in doing it by the way, but I'm trying to think differently) But we are so conditioned, we need to set our minds right for maintenance - and that almost feels like the hardest part.

Also, full power to you for being a mum of 4 and smashing your exercise before 630am. 💪

Yes I do have a buffer - my current weight is 10st 5lb and my goal was 10st 7 - zone of tolerance is 10st - 10st 7lb so I’m theoretically fine. I know I need to not panic. I think this new found happiness with my body just feels so fragile and because I’ve always failed at maintenance before it feels like such a hurdle.

@MargoLivebetter thanks for your sensible words. I’m so glad 1.25 is working so well for you. Do you think you will stay on it forever?

@MeridaBrave Bless you thinking a pull up bar would be useful - I cannot do a single pull up - the bar would just be for decorative purposes! I could have a go on the monkey bars when I take the kids to the park though!! What do you think of caroline Girvan? I know she has a bodweight series I could try? Otherwise I might wait until youngest starts school in August and then I can use Friday mornings for a few personal trainer sessions and try to get into a routine at the gym.

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2025 09:21

@Incognitoburrito88 I would like to think not, but I genuinely don't know. I need to get through winter, which is always more difficult for me because I go all hibernatory and just want to stuff my face with carbs. Once I get to Spring, I will come off again and if the food noise comes back again, then I'm going to try hypnotherapy to see if that can help quiet the monkey brain chatter about food. If that doesn't work, then I'll go back on again.

I do body weight exercises at home, because I hate gyms. Calisthenics, Pilates and the kind of stuff that Caroline Girvan does all involve body weight resistance that you can do in the comfort of your own home. You are still quite young, but definitely something to consider as you get older.

I think that buffer is too small! I can gain 2kg (closer to 5lbs) with a couple of carby meals. I’m trying to maintain between 57 and 58kg but would need to be over 59 for me to have a full blown panic. Honestly can go from 57 to 58 overnight!!

DareDevil223 · 14/11/2025 11:52

Hi all. I'm still on 10mg currently and my weight is trending downwards at around half a pound a week. I'm just building in a little buffer zone but trying to eat a bit more.

I have a hideous cold and cough though so I have actually delayed my jab as I don't want to feel even worse!

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2025 12:01

@DareDevil223 there are so many grim bugs doing the rounds. I hope you feel better soon.

@DareDevil223 Me too! I'm now on my 3rd week and this morning, it actually feels worse than it did yesterday. I'm well-fed up.

@Incognitoburrito88 "Bless you thinking a pull up bar would be useful - I cannot do a single pull up - the bar would just be for decorative purposes!" This made me laugh - I've never been able to do a pull-up either.

I get that. My goal was 11 and bmi 24 still dropping from 15 I’ve lost almost another stone but I know at 10.2 I’m too skinny. Face looking gaunt so I’m hoovering 10.7 so half a stone less then I wanted and think bmi of 23

i seem to vary 10.3 to 10.6 and if higher end good for the week and drops off again

as long as I don’t go past 10.7 which is still 7lbs less than my original goal

The pull up bar needs to be used with elastic resistance bands - ie band assisted pull ups. Yes it’s very hard to even do one. Caroline Girvan is also great. Want to be doing something where 10 reps is hard and you couldn’t manage 12.

Thelittlestranger · 14/11/2025 14:12

I have enjoyed Caroline Girvan, both the app and the YouTube videos when I can't be bothered to work out my own routine.

@MeridaBrave I was intending on 4lbs, so in essence I agree. As it turns out, for the past 5 weeks since coming off the jab I have not gone past either number. I would rather extend it down, but that would take too much resolution for me right now to get it lower than it ever was with the jabs, while I manage not being on the jabs at all.

I haven't tried to do a pull up since losing weight. I wonder if I could do one yet...

It took me a long time using the resistance bands to manage but yes losing weight does help.

tostaky · 14/11/2025 15:02

I find caroline girvan really challenging! I did one video of her iron series and had the most awful sore abs ever! I could not move for two days, it was pathetic!
i am now following growingananas on youtube which is a lot easier but still challenging. (Just saying in case anyone is looking for something a bit easier than CG!)

i find just hanging on a bar quite hard as well. I can do 30 seconds. I wonder if wearing gloves makes a difference? It hurts my hands so much!

i find exercising is really making the difference for me. Im on a low dose of mj (2mg every 4 days, still one stone to lose). So i get the suppression but i need to be active and build muscles. The weeks i dont exercise, i lose less.

Welcome @tostaky glad to see you are planning ahead! I took a 7 month break and then ordered with Pharmulous. They will allow you to order for maintenance purposes up to 12 months after your last prescription (as long as you can evidence this) and your BMI is over 19. I found them really easy to deal with.

This sounds interesting! Were you a Pharmulous customer before your break @MargoLivebetter?

Have you accidentally bookmarked the post it opens on? On the website (I don't use the app) there's a bookmark button in the blue writing under your post. It will reopen the thread on that post. Make sure it's unselected and see if that works. Or just bookmark and then immediately unbookmark another post and it will clear your previous too.

I swear by pharmolous and when used my stash I will order with them

they were great before and said they will support me in maintenance as long as bmi isn’t too low

I promote them a lot. Shame I don’t work on commission 😂😂

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2025 16:37

Hello @Wendela no, I hadn't had any dealings with them before.

I’m using Swift and I hope they will continue to support me. My BMI is 21.5 and I don’t want to lose more weight. MJ is helping me in other ways - cholesterol is now normal, sorted out food noise, disordered eating, etc. I’m taking 2.5mg but currently from a 5mg pen.

HOWEVER I am extremely muscular. I don’t know my body fat % since the gym machine says 8% and the home scales say 14% but my PT thinks (on looking at me) it must be approaching 10%. I don’t look skinny at all, for example I have massive (and solid) thighs, but in a bikini I look lean / ripped. I have a six pack but lots of size 8 stuff doesn’t fit due to shoulders…

When these pharmacies say “BMI of say 21” so they mean they will ask for photos, or you’ll self declare a scale weight?

Wendela · 14/11/2025 17:43

Thanks @MargoLivebetter. I have a little stash I'm working through, ordered though Oushk, and built up as I have been taking smaller doses from a 10 pen. No issue with them per se, but I would like to use my stash without having to pay £15 per month to stay on Oushk books!. I have reached my goal, and don't really want to drop anymore. I am tapering down and am on 5mg at the moment, and who knows, maybe go it alone without Mounjaro (tho it has been fantastic in relieving arthritis in my hands!). I am fairly regularly changing my mind on this! Such uncharted territory for us all!

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2025 18:42

@Wendelait is definitely uncharted territory but it is also great that we can do our own thing and we have some choices. Keep us posted with whatever you do decide to do. Smile

Can I join? I’m at or very close to my goal. I’m 1kg away from my original goal. BMI is 23. I was trying to shift 5kg more, but looking at my body, not sure how. I can see ribs!

Im with Asda, and I think they do support maintenance, although they don’t shout about it. I found something on their website about it and they seem happy for me to keep ordering.

Im on 7.5mg, how did people start their maintenance? Reduce slightly? I want to stay on for quite a while and titrate down. Everything possible not to regain.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2025 19:12

@FoxRedPuppy I dropped every month or so from 15 and now on 5. Think I did 10 for 2mths
