Can't believe we filled up a whole thread! Welcome to thread 2.

On a positive note to start us off, I've lost 1lb of the two that I gained from my autumnal apple crumble caper. Filling full of resolve and pleased to know I can gain a pound or two (which is of course completely normal) and then lose them again.

Hello, 👋 I started in May and as i am approaching (very slowly) my GW i am starting to think about maintenance.
i still want to lose around a stone but i figure i need to start ordering from a maintenance friendly provider now.
my plan is to stay on MJ long term, maybe doing 1.25 every 7 to 10 days (im on 2mg every 4.5 days at the moment).
someone mentioned a spreadsheet for maintenance providers?
also how many months do i need to order before i qualify for maintenance? (Especially the type of plan where i could stop ordering for 6-7 months but then start again)
many thanks

Pharmulous, swift and oushk are good for maintenance plans. Look on www.monj.co.uk as they have a maintenance section. All prescribers are different with limits on bmi and ordering so best to check with them or the site above for more info.
I'm with Oushk.

MargoLivebetter · 12/11/2025 13:39

Welcome @tostaky glad to see you are planning ahead! I took a 7 month break and then ordered with Pharmulous. They will allow you to order for maintenance purposes up to 12 months after your last prescription (as long as you can evidence this) and your BMI is over 19. I found them really easy to deal with.

I eat 1100-1200 on average and I can hit the high protein goals, I reduce my carbs to do this, its easy to do just have protein at every meal and focus on protein snacks. I currently have 38% muscle mass and started at 43.5% so it is high for a woman and I am strong, can easily lift 20kg and I find protein fills me up and helps me hit the low cals. I weigh 59kg, I range from 70 to 105g protein a day depending on whether I have a protein shake for breakfast or not. I also add collagen to my shake and peanut butter powder. I used to be very poor for protein and craved carbs and was prediabetic so I don't want to go back to that.

Edited

I am similar. I eat protein and veg and try to keep protein high and carbs low. Am not as scientific day to day as @Mysticmaiden and my Renpho scales tell me I could do with adding a few lbs of muscle and dropping a few lbs of fat but I limit carbs as they don’t keep me full for long like protein does.

MargoLivebetter · 13/11/2025 12:48

Hello @sussex1975 welcome to the next stage and congratulations on your 8 stone loss! That is fantastic.

What do you want to cut down to? I think you probably need to say that, otherwise it will be hard to say how many clicks you need to do.

2 x 15 mg pens is 150mg if you include the bonus dose.

That is enough for 4 weeks at 12.5mg followed by 4 weeks at 10mg and 4 weeks at each dose on the way down. It will mean you use each pen for longer than 30 days though particularly the second one which you will be using for 13-14 weeks.

So I have got it finally..
So I am thinking.
1st pen- 75mg
12.5mg x 4 = 50mg
10mg x 2 = 20mg
= 70mg
Left with 5mg

2nd pen 75mg, but 80mg with the 5 from other pen.
10mg x 2 = 20mg
7.5mg x 4 = 30mg
5mg x 4 = 20mg
2.5mg x 4 = 10mg
= 80mg.

Is this correct???

This looks like a plan 😊
I'm also tapering down started at 15mg, did 2 x 12.5, 3 x 10 and then 7.5 but I was snacky, so stuck to 8.5mgs. I have another 10mg pen and wegovy 1.7mg as mj zaps my energy and I have had lots hair loss so wanted to see if W would help with that. 1 more dose of 8.5mg then decide what to move on to next.
Hoping to stay on a low dose until Xmas is over at least

You may also have slightly more than 5mg left over from pen as I often have 0.7-0.8ml left of golden dose

How has Wegovy been for you?
I have not been too bad and been on the 15mg MJ for months now and been too lazy to think about stopping, but the £300 a month out of my bank has made me decide.
Did you find that on the 15mg you got to the point where you just felt it was not working anymore.. as I now get hungry at the times I used to etc.... I do snack... but find that what I snack on is not mega bad anymore and I am a grazer .. so will grab a slice of chicken and munch on it then a hour later some more.... xx
I am thinking more now to do like you did... and 2 weeks at 12.5mg.... and take it from there. x

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2025 20:56

I don’t think this week has been so snackangry 😂 and maybe busy getting used to 5. Esp as I was on 15

FurForksSake · 13/11/2025 20:58

That’s positive! I’m down to 12.5 after a brief interlude on 15 and really want to come down so I can eventually maintain on 5 or 2.5 but fear the food noise and snacking

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2025 21:33

See how you feel on 5 @FurForksSake. It really is a difference. I think

Fantastic. What syringes do people use please?

Incognitoburrito88 · 14/11/2025 08:13

Morning everyone! I’ve been reading posts but not had much to say over the last week or so! I weigh every day but today is my official ‘weigh and jab day’. I’m a bit frustrated as I’m up 1lb from last week. I know it’s nothing really but I don’t feel it’s deserved. Reviewing my food diaries I don’t really see where it’s coming from. I’ve upped my exercise this week and eaten back almost none of my exercise calories (eat a bit more after my long run on a Sunday) so I’m feeling peeved!

I’m currently jabbing 3.75mg every 14 days and to be honest I didn’t really feel like I needed to jab this morning - hunger has been manageable and food noise has been there but ok… but I don’t like the upward creep on the scales and I’m a bit scared of my social calendar for the next 6 wks so I took 3.75mg. I hadn’t really meant to go to 14 day intervals yet so if I’m not back down to 10st 4 by next Friday I will jab again. I do have a tendency to get a bit hysterical and I’m now convinced this is a sign I won’t be able to maintain without MJ!

plan for the week -

3 x runs, 4 cycles to work and 2 x bodypump
No bread in my packed lunches
Stick to small portions at dinner time
Try to maximise protein

In the long run extra weight training maybe better than the extra cardio. Bodypump is good but due to all the reps it’s light (eg. I squat with 30kg in bodypump and 80kg in the gym). To maintain weight longer term more muscle mass can be helpful.

The cardio is out of love rather than anything else! My husband has finally agreed I can do another marathon (haven’t done one since 2009) and I’m so excited. I genuinely wake up at 5 am excited to run! Cycling to work is the quickest way to get there so I can’t exchange it for anything other than sitting on the bus!! I do keep reading about the need to ‘lift heavy’ but I don’t know how to fit it into my week. I have the weights for bodypump at home and the Les Mills app so do it from home. I could maybe manage one gym session a week and I have wondered about adding that in but with 4 kids and a full time job most of my exercise has to take place before 6:30 am so getting to a gym isn’t convenient. I think at the moment I have to not let perfect be the enemy of good and while I know heavy lifting might be better for me I have to just do what I can until my domestic situation changes… But yeah I agree probably none of these things are doing much to help me maintain my weight other than being good for my mental health!

MargoLivebetter · 14/11/2025 08:36

@Incognitoburrito88 1lb is tiny and whilst it is annoying seeing a gain, I honestly think a 1lb or 2 either side both up and down is inevitable. Our bodies are going to fluctuate slightly. Your plan for the week ahead looks very sensible. You may even found the 1lb is gone by tomorrow morning! Love that you are excited to train for and do a marathon!!!!!

@sussex1975 I buy my syringes from Amazon. I can't do clicks (for no reaons other than I worry I will miscount or mess it up), so I always use a syringe. I get the micro fine needles, which is a 32g. They come in sterile sealed individual packs.

I've had another good week on the 1.25 dose. I've made an effort to get my steps in and do my body weight exercises too. I'm 2lb below goal. However, the best thing continues to be the lack of food noise. I do get some food thoughts but they disappear very quickly and even though I have the thought, I don't have that relentless nagging to do anything about it, so it just pops in to my mind and then it goes again.

OP posts:
Thelittlestranger · 14/11/2025 08:41

Do you have a buffer? ie - a few lbs that you can go in between before full blown panic mode sets in? Mine is 2lb. Asking because that 1lb could just be because you need to go to the toilet, or you haven't drunk enough water, or eaten too much salt, or had a particular hard workout and you are storing water in your muscles, or time of the month, or, or.....

Point being that if you know you've done the right thing it's most likely to be any of the above things. And we need to refrain our brains a little not to panic (I'm right there with you in doing it by the way, but I'm trying to think differently) But we are so conditioned, we need to set our minds right for maintenance - and that almost feels like the hardest part.

Also, full power to you for being a mum of 4 and smashing your exercise before 630am. 💪

There is stuff that can be done at home. If you do not have the 10kg plates order them. Can you bench press 30kg even for 10 reps? How about shoulder press? I have a pull up bar - that can also be done at home.
