Hi!
Going to Fueterventura. Travelling from Manchester airport. How do I take my pen and needles through security, does anybody know?
thanks 😊

You'll just need your prescription with you

I just bought a travel case thing for the pen which came with a couple of fridge packs, and made sure it was in the box with my prescription. They didn't even comment on it or ask about it.

It is extremely straightforward.
Pack it in your hand luggage and take it through security as normal.
The needles are so small they are not an issue & can stay in your bag.

You can get a Frio wallet to keep it at room temperature incase it is hot when you get out there. (The wallet contains a pouch that has christals in, you soak the pouch, put your pen in, and put it in the wallet.

If it is an airport that still wants you to separate your liquids, I just put it the wallet beside my handbag, in the security tray.
Take the box your recent pen came in as it will have your prescription label on. I just folded the box flat in my handbag incase it was needed.

I often have to take medication with me and have never been asked for any further inspection/clarification.

I got a small injection cooler travel case from Amazon. The ice packs are small so under the liquid limit. I packed the pen, some alcohol wipes and 3 needles just in case. I also took a print out of the prescribing letter as I’d thrown the box away.

flew to Corfu, no one mentioned anything.

mine was my last dose, so didn’t need to worry about keeping the packs cold to bring it back

Hi, if I'm doing my golden dose on holiday, can I carry the insulin syringes with needles attached in hand luggage or do they need to go in suitcase ?

I am flying on Friday and I'll be taking my golden dose whilst in holiday
I'm taking the syringe in the case with the pen in hand luggage but also throwing one syringe in my checked in baggage in case they don't like the syringe on the plane (but heard from many people it should be fine)

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal thanks. Good plan.
