I bought some from Vinted to go to a wedding back in February which was really good, I think it was from spanx but has no label. It has shorts and a zip and corset closing and was brilliant. It says 70% nylon, 30% spandex on the label, I will try and post a photo.

I don’t like any. The skin and fat has to go somewhere and ends up poking out in all the ones I’ve tried.

This may be a random suggestion but look at Vanilla Blush. They make hernia support garments, which i guess are similar to shapewear but with a higher level of support. They do a vest (which i wear daily as I have a stoma) and it's great, and also very comfortable to wear. They are very reasonable too, £35. They do other items too like high waisted underwear.

Snag super high waist knickers hold me in but are also extremely comfortable for everyday wear unlike Spanx type garments. Highly recommend.

I also recommend Snag bras for anyone with large breasts, mine are now flabby after weight loss but I hate wired or support type bras. The Snag ones have wider elasticated straps with extra padding on the shoulder so really comfortable. The downside is that they look enormous when you’re not wearing them!

The sizing method is not traditional either but is accurate, I can wear mine all day without any discomfort - and did just that on an overnight flight recently.

I must have a look at their knickers!
