Elcella - anyone else trying it?

Hi, name changed for this, I’ve purchased a month’s supply to try and I’m coming up to a week and think it’s really helped me to quieten the food thoughts. However taking it as recommended at lunch and dinner means the mornings are hard so I’m experimenting when’s best to take it. Just wondered if anyone else is trying it and how they’ve found it?

Yes I read that article and it made me come here and search for this thread which I knew I’d seen but hadn’t heard of Elcella and hadn’t opened.

I’ve lost a lot of weight on Mounjaro and stopped taking and might be interested in Elcella for maintenance.

is the article available without signing up fir a subscription?

Need a subs for that link

@Kathleen that’s interesting that despite reducing your calories (no snacking) you are losing minimal weight (4lbs). What do you make of that? Do you eat more at dinner? Just curious thanks

I don’t have a huge amount to lose (20lbs or so) and always find it hard to shed the pounds. Other than that I can’t explain why weight loss has been slow but the inch loss is really encouraging and my clothes are fitting better already. I’m not tracking calories but I’m definitely consuming less food as I’m only eating at mealtimes & eating normal portions of healthy food.

Interesting article- the comments made by various readers also.
it’s apparent that many of those commenting really haven’t had experience of his hard it is to loose weight, and don’t understand why those of us who’ve had a lifetime battle with it need to find to help us!

I agree - lots of “eat less/move more” comments as if no-one had ever thought of it! Elcella is a new kind of product & they don’t claim it’s a quick fix but we all know that kind of weight loss doesn’t work anyway. I’m sticking with it for the recommended 12 weeks & will report back again as I go along.

CuriousBat · 13/11/2025 23:30

@Kathleen ive just had to stop Wegovy as i had increased SVT issues ( was on mounjaro before that)
having a few weeks break to decide which way to go - am seriously considering elcella

will watch to see how you progress - hope it goes well for you

I read the Times article today and thought it sounded interesting. However then I remembered I take an omega oil capsule everyday. For my brain and pms symptoms. But now I’m wondering if it’s been helping my gut too? Anyone else already take omega oil capsules?

renthead · 25/11/2025 14:45

I’m also here after reading about it in the Times. My BMI wouldn’t come close to qualifying for a GLP-1, but in perimenopause I’m finding it a struggle to
maintain my weight and the “food noise” is real! This sounds like something totally new that could be helpful.

ReadingTime · 25/11/2025 17:25

I’ve just ordered one months supply, on the logic that I only have 5-10 kilos to lose, and I was about to spend a similar amount of money on a new dress to wear at Christmas, but I already have a lovely dress that cost a similar amount and is now a bit too small that I’ve only worn once.

Maybe it won’t work, but I’m confident it won’t do me any harm, and even if it’s just a placebo affect or guilt about spending the money that makes me try harder to eat healthily and that means I’ll lose weight, I don’t really care how it helps, if it helps. I will report back!

I’m probably going to buy and see how it goes for a month.
Sort of same mind set - if it works for placebo, guilt trip or any other reason I’ll take it as a win.

good luck and look forward to hearing your progress

Just be aware that a month might not be enough to see the weight loss that you’re hoping for but don’t give up. I’m at the end of week 9 and weight loss is only starting to be noticeable now but even before this, it felt worth the effort. My food noise disappeared pretty much in the first week. I work in an office with a steady stream of cakes and treats which I could never resist and now I have zero interest in this stuff. I walk through the sweets/biscuits/crisps aisle in Tesco and none of it appeals to me any more. It really is incredible how it’s helped me change my habits. The article said there will be a follow-on programme after the 12 weeks and I’ll definitely be signing up for that. I’d hate to go back to the always-hungry person I was before Elcella. Best of luck to you both!

Thank you - I thought I’d purchase 1 month to start rather than 3 just in case they don’t agree with me. More likely to be the casing rather than oils.
😊

Yes, I’m going month by month as well but this is due to the cost. There are no known side effects so you’ll probably tolerate it without any trouble but you’re right that it’s the special capsule that makes Elcella different from just taking the ingredients separately.

Sunshinebound99 · 28/11/2025 22:50

I’ve just started too. Interested to see how we all get on. Sounds like may not see results on scales until around 8/9 week point. I’m only on day one and definitely didn’t need to snack today.

Limered · 28/11/2025 22:52

What the fuck - £600 for some oil. Jesus Christ. If you need to lose weight take 4 months of Mounjaro would be better

Limered · 28/11/2025 22:56

Weekendofthoughts97 · 01/09/2025 02:09

im using unnatural in the colloquial term, in that it’s obvious you cannot buy it ‘over the counter’ in the same way you can more ‘natural’ options like elcella

The clue is that you can buy it over the counter, I.e it has no working medical ingredients! As others have pointed out, it readily available oils marketed for £600!!!

my high dose MJ is £200 a month

Marketing bullshit. Any decent weigh loss you should be losing 1-2lbs a week. Not 1-2lbs in 9 weeks

Limered · 28/11/2025 23:02

Oh lord, you’ve been had. ‘Scientific’ weight claims based on ONE MEAL….

Mad that people are falling for this shit.

PerditaNitt · 03/12/2025 14:55

I’ve just started taking it too, and will share my experience on this thread.

I struggle with food noise; the only time it went away is when I was on medication for my ADHD (which I eventually had to stop taking because of side effects). I’m hoping that this will calm down the food noise and improve my gut health.

I have considered weight loss jabs, but having had long lasting side effects with other medications before, I’m quite reluctant. I also had weight pile back on after stopping my adhd meds, so don’t fancy committing to MJ for life! Agree that the lack of peer reviewed data is a big negative, but my skepticism is balanced against my curiosity. I am lucky to be able to afford the £600 punt, and I don’t see any downsides.

hungrymungry · 06/12/2025 09:54

I am trying it too.
Expensive and I have just been going a few days but it seems to work so far - very clever idea. I will come back in a week or two.

On the Second Nature "review" posted by a PP. Second Nature has a rival diet product - WLI plus healthy eating AFAIK. So I hardly think they're likely to be objective!

superbiensur · 14/12/2025 12:57

I'm about half way through my third bottle (I had a 2-3 week break though before starting the second one). It's only over the last week that I've felt a very noticeable change to my appetite and have starting losing (2 pounds this week). Am hoping this means the loss will now continue and be consistent, but it's definitely taken time to work - as they warn on their site/fb group. Jury's still out given the cost but am happy it feels like it's kicking in more now

ChristmasStressy · 14/12/2025 13:00

Is it made from snakes 🤣
