Hi there. Question for anyone who has travelled into Europe recently - what documentation do I need to take to be allowed to take a Monjaro pen with me.

Many thanks

I went to Italy recently. I had all the paperwork, box with prescription printed on it, letter from prescriber. I wasn't asked for any of it. On the way out, the insulin cooler that I had my MJ pen in was stopped and they subjected it to further examination. They never opened it, just did their tests then came back to me and asked what was in it. I just told them it was injectable medication and that was that.
On the way back, absolutely nothing.
I don't think any of this is out of the ordinary, there must be lots of diabetics travelling with insulin.

I've taken them to several European countries and long haul destinations too - no problems, just make sure you have the boxes with the stickers with your name on. Out of at least 20 airport security checks I've only been asked 3 times, they treat them same as an epi pen.

I use a frio wallet for it for travelling, works well

I never gave it a second thought when I flew to New York earlier this year. I wasn’t asked anything either.

I travelled with a Frio wallet recently from a UK airport where everything stays in the bag at security, the Frio triggered a further check where I was asked was it was and had to take the MJ out for them but not a problem taking through, on the return put the MJ in the liquids bag leaving the Frio wallet in my bag and nothing was questioned. I did also take the box showing my name on it on case of any issues.

It’s also in your NHS app as a listed prescription so if asked use that as evidence but I have travelled and never been asked.
