Where to start on Wegovy after 15mg Mounjaro?

Just that really. I have a two month supply of 15mg, but after that I won’t be continuing with Mounjaro due to the price hikes.
I’ve read conflicting information on where I should start with Wegovy. Some sources say I’ll start with a higher dose, others say I must start at the beginning on the lowest.
Also, is there a price comparison site for it? I found Monj absolutely invaluable for Mounjaro.
Oh, and I’d also be mega interested to hear what Wegovy is like from an appetite suppression point of view. Mounjaro has been ok for me with that, but boy can I still eat! 🤦‍♀️ It worked better food noise wise.

No advice,but I'm watching this thread with interest as I am going to be moving from Mounjaro to Wegovy or Ozempic, thanks to the massive price hike of Mounjaro. Everything I've read makes me believe that you have to start at the lowest dose, even if you were on 15 mg of Mounjaro. Sounds a bit daft to me,but then I'm not a medical expert. I'll wait and see what the company I'm going to buy the Wegovy or Ozempic from say.
Regarding your question about the effectiveness of Mounjaro versus Wegovy/Ozempic,I found Wegovy/Ozempic very effective right from the lowest dose. When I was barely 2 weeks in,I found the 'food noise' had gone, and my appetite was completely clobbered. On Mounjaro,I find that the 'food noise' is still there to a certain degree,but when it comes to actually eating,I'm not able to eat anywhere near as much as I used to. But that was only after I'd started taking the 7.5 mg dose. On the lower doses,I was only eating slightly less,not enough to lose much weight (about 1 lb every 2 - 3 weeks).

If you’re an existing customer, which you are, most pharmacies are offering a switch to wegovy and inform on what dose to start on, in comparison to your current dose, speak to your pharmacy. No you don’t need to start at the bottom, and you need a week wash out, so basically a week then you inject wegovy.

however they are different drugs totally, and of course mounjaro has two agonists, the second one lessens the side effects like nausea and makes it more tolerable. In terms of effacy it’s not a direct comparison, for example the highest dose of wegovy is only as strong as much lower dose of mounjaro. Something like 5 or 7.5, I forget the numbers, so pharmacies will say 2.4mg is the equivalent if 15mg mounjaro byt that’s dosage, not effacy.

and of course you only get 4 weeks from wegovy, rather than the current 5 on mj, all things to consider snd spend some time reading up on.

however if you’re on 15mg and can still fully eat I’m not sure mounjaro properly works for you, so maybe wegovy will be better, or maybe it will be even worse. I feel for you as 15mg is unaffordable for nearly everyone.

Youre on 40mg of citalopram, an antidepressant. Thats the highest dose available.

Your doctor wants you to swap to Venlafaxine. Yes its another antidepressant but its a completely different drug so you need to get the citalopram out of your system and then build up the venlafaxine, starting at the lowest dose like all antidepressant users do.

Personally (being risk adverse) I think I would start a dose or two down incase Wegovy affected me differently as I have read some people didn't get on with one GLP1 but were ok on the other or vice versa.

I've just transferred to wegovy from mounjaro and I was on 10mg, I've had to start at the bottom dose despite having to provide proof of my last 3 prescriptions

I've just ordered my first wegovy from swift doctors. You have to send picture of last prescription but was very easy... And cost £99 for a 1mg pen (equivalent to 7.5mg MJ!!)

I was on 12.5 of MJ and was ready to move to 15. Have just started on 2.4 of Wegovy. Can’t say I’m feeling any difference at all to be honest. There’s a bit of suppression but doesn’t feel the same as MJ - I feel like I could eat, but then don’t really fancy it. I’m only two weeks in so will see how it goes

I was on 15mg MJ and I’ve just changed suppliers, they’ve recommended 1.7mg Wegovy but the higher dose wasn’t available

I've been prescribed 1mg wegovy after being on 10mg MJ, I needed a week in between, I was a bit anxious though so just took half a dose the first week (0.5mg) this week the full dose of 1mg, I feel full but feel the food noise is back a bit. However on MJ sometimes I felt food made me feel a bit nauseous so in a way it is nice to actually like food again. I am eating a full meal for my dinner but intermittent fasting as I did on Mj and have lost weight in the last 2 weeks.

Voy is letting me use my referral discounts for the past year on MJ with the wegovy so that is helping a lot as it is cheaper anyway

For my next dose they are moving me up to the next strength wegovy but I may ask to stay with the 1mg. I'm getting near to maintenance anyway.

Going forward I want to ask if they will let me take 1mg over 8 weeks but not sure if they will let me as will mean ordering every 2 months. They do give the option to change the date in orders a couple of weeks later, so would be possible too just might result in a bit of a stockpile.

I will see how it goes but using the extra money for a swim pass to combine with the wegovy.

Sorry to hear that. It's strange how we all react differently. I hope going back to MJ helps and it is not too costly.

@ChaosDreamV2a week I have messaged my supplier asking if I can go back on 15mg. I haven’t gained or lost this week so I don’t know what’s happening

Ok so I need to eat my words. I had my first injection on 12th September had no effect what so ever. Stood on the scale the morning of my 2nd injection 19th September and had lost 2lbs with another 1lbs and 2oz off today. The food noise is 100% there but I’m not constantly thinking about the next meal it’s more “oh I fancy xyx” rather than having no thought of food. I stuck on what to do….

I assumed lowest dose and ordered it from Chequp. They contacted me and recommended the higher dose so I bought that instead.
