Golden Dose needles

I have only been successful once with the hard twist method.

With the increased costs, I am definitely going to extract the golden dose. What needles please? With link if possible?

You need 1ml syringes that are 4 to 8mm long, and 32g or 30g gauge (width of needle), eg these would do:

Order a box of alcohol wipes too, even more important to clean the red dot and your skin when using the golden dose.

Do you draw the liquid out and inject with the same needle? are the pen needles 8mm or more like 4mm? id prefer the same length as the pen needle if anyone has a link?

@popdepop most fixed syringes have needles of 8mm and above. You would need to use Luer Lock syringes to get a 4mm but would probably need a longer needle to extract then change over.

Honestly, the 8mm are absolutely fine!

@popdepopI use lure lock syringes from UK Medi with a 6mm needle for extraction, then swap to a 4mm needle for injection.

I am squeamish, but I used the 8mm for extraction and injection, and it was honestly fine. The needle recommended above seemed finer than the pen needles.

The surplus amount isn’t ever a full dose amount though.

@bumbaloo yes it is. It’s usually more than 0.6ml, which is a full dose. I usually get 0.8ml or a bit more.

I read that the manufacturer is going to change the design of the pens so that the amount of priming liquid is greatly reduced. They have caught onto the Golden Dose trick! Seems rather mean of them.

Hopefully there is plenty of stock and they haven’t confirmed when that change is coming in. I’ll be rinsing every drop until then!
