I’m due to start my mounjaro tomorrow as wanted to wait until I’m back from my hols.
anyway I’m really sensitive to side effects for any medications. Wondering if anyone has done 30 clicks instead of 60 so 1.25mg to start with and if so how did you feel? How was your suppression etc
Thank you xxx

I was so nervous about it I started on about 7 clicks! Then 15, then 30! Decided to use my first pen to ease into it. All was fine!

I started on 20 clicks, then 25 and last week I did 30.

I suffer badly with a fear of vomiting and this is the only way to control my anxiety - by going very slowly and increasing a bit at a time.

I will probably stick on 30 clicks for a couple more weeks as I am definitely finding it easier to resist foods that otherwise would trigger a binge and have also lost some weight. It's working well for me so far.

I did 4 weeks at 1.25, and lost 10lb. I was delighted.

The weight came off much faster when I moved onto 2.5mg but I have no regrets about doing it how I did, I'm VERY sensitive to medications and it helped my anxiety so much. Like the pp, I have severe emetophobia so was terrified and had the pen sitting in my fridge for ages before I dared.

Now I wish I'd started sooner :)

You'll need extra needles. You only get 4/5 with a pen. Oh and I had good suppression throughout. I miss the suppression of the early days now I'm 3 months in, it does fade a bit.

curiousfat · 25/08/2025 22:27

I definitely had a bit at half the dose and stayed on that for a bit too. It all builds up - you almost don't notice that you're feeling anything and then realise you've not been that bothered about chocolate or snacking!

Did you still get suppression on 15 clicks? X

I started at 20 clicks, I felt it curbed my appetite a little but it’s hard to know how much that was placebo effect or me being ultra cautious because of my fear of vomiting. I lost weight the first week I started so it was having an effect of some kind. I’ve exercised a fair bit of willpower but I think that’s no bad thing to be honest.

I would just rather start low and slow seen so many horror story’s but just need to take the leap x

I put it off for the best part of a year because I was so anxious but now I’ve started I feel so much better about it, and in control.

Going very slowly is an expensive way to do it because it may well take two months before I’m at a similar level to people starting with the normal dose but this is right for me and as I say, I’m losing weight so I’m happy.

Good luck!

I don’t mind the cost as long as I am feeling fine with it, I’m just so anxious especially with the going blind part x

Like PP I have a phobia of vomiting. This alone has put me off starting MJ even though my BMI is horrific at 72.

I have yet to take my first dose. I don't know whether to take 1.25 or the whole 2.50.
