Help with extracting 5th dose

So, I know the 5th dose is not advised, but due to huge delivery delays (Asda stating 7-9 days), and trying to switch provider being delayed by BH weekend, I’m worried more than 2 weeks will pass before getting new pen.

So, I opened the last pen I had on the 25th July. This makes tomorrow 30 days, but am thinking that if I can get ahold of a diabetic needle, I can make use of the last shot while I try to sort my orders out.
I’m aware, I think, of how to use the diabetic needle (have watched video on mls/units of measurement etc).
Two questions:
1.How long can be left at max between doses if needs be?
I’m on 5mg if that makes a difference.
2 All syringes from chemists seem to have a few days delivery time. Are the ones from Amazon really not sterile? These ones can arrive tomorrow.

Usually your 5th dose would be day 28. You take first in day 1, second day 7, third day 14, fourth day 21 and fifth on 28.

You need diabetic needles, you can buy them from chemists in person too.

You can go two weeks without a dose before it is deemed you should start again on 2.5.

I’ve used the ones from Amazon and they arrive each in their own individual packaging and they’re stamped with a “sterile” stamp. You have to extract it very slowly. A slight pull, and stop, and again, otherwise it can suck air in.

In terms of times between doses, my friend who has been on it for longer than I have says she spaces hers out by 9-10 days some weeks as suppression is still and that gives her longer out of each pen.

I am sure I read that the prescription allows you to change your injection day by up to + or - 3 days and it still be effective. So 10 days.

People do have longer gaps (for example if going on holiday) and still order too.

I sourced a diabetic needle ( a parent is type 1 and has spare supplies) and managed the extraction easily. The needle was also not as painful as I had anticipated.
