Just wanted to flag up that it may be an idea to try and source MJ from your local chemist

This is just a suggestion and I had never considered it until today. On an off chance, I called my local chemist to ask if they did MJ and if so, did they support maintenance as my BMI is 23.

To cut a long story short, I had two 10mg pens in my hand within 20 minutes of calling them - it was that quick:

Ive always been with Medexpress for weight loss and then Oushk for maintenance and have become frustrated with all the hassle recently - struggled to get one pen and still not approved nearly a fortnight in.

Id never thought to ‘go local’ as I think I assumed it would be really expensive but I paid £160 per pen which is relatively reasonable

Anyway, just a thought if anyone is like me and just hadn’t considered it

Local chemist as an independent or a national brand?

friendlycat · 23/08/2025 21:16

I’ve always seen my local pharmacy (Day Lewis) to pick up WLI since I started late April.

You get face to face personal service and walk out with the relevant pen.

I am considering this too. I am using a decent online pharmacy, who haven't let me down yet, but I do worry about pens warming up in transit and would much rather collect. It's good to know you weren't given a short shift at 23 BMI!

I would love to, but our local pharmacy has a consultation room that has paper thin walls, right next to where there is always a queue of people. I’d be mortified for people in the village to overhear.

HeronandChips · 23/08/2025 21:31

@Mysticmaiden just a local independent one. So not like, I dunno, Lloyds.

literally so easy and straightforward and I’m not sure why it hadn’t occurred to me before now. I suppose I always thought online was the only way

@JustPinkFinch no, not at all. And merely glanced at my previous orders which I’d screenshotted

I'd love to use my local pharmacy but it's really expensive. Not Boots expensive but a fair bit more that MMP
