I panicked and did the injection wrong - now worrying

I’m still early days with my first pen. The other day I went to do my injection, put it in, panicked for some reason and took it out and then injected again next to where I first put it in. I’m scared of needles so it’s taking time getting used to doing it but realised after I did it I should have used a new needle. I’ve got a small itchy rash but feel ok.
will I be ok? I won’t do that again but feel so stupid and worried I’m going to get ill.

Ideally you should not re use a needle but mainly because it loses its sharpness. You’ll be fine.

Totally fine don’t worry,

If you read step 13 of the paper instructions, you will see it says to reinsert the needle (not change it) if you don’t fully inject for some reason. So you have actually correctly followed the instructions. So don’t worry.

If you injected the right amount why would you get ill?

Gettingbysomehow · 23/08/2025 17:30

It's only a problem if you stuck the needle in you then someone else.

It’ll be fine. I did this a week or so ago and it was fine. You can’t give yourself an infection because youll have it already if that makes sense?

This isn't true. The chances of it being problematic are one in probably millions but you should use a new needle.
