My 7.5 has been approved

For those who uses juniper - are you going to cancel once get the first reduced by £75 pen

if so how do you cancel ?

It's a bit convoluted.....in the app go to your account, click 'visit help centre' in the support section. Click manage my account. In link called 'manage my subscription' click 'how do I cancel my subscription.' This page then has a link to a cancellation form.

When I went to cancel they offered me a further discount and someone then used my referral code, so I'm actually still with them currently.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2025 13:59

So I need to download their app ? Thanks

Shego · 28/08/2025 14:14

I'm with Juniper. They've just emailed me their new prices.

I'm definitely going to have to start to shop around, or think about switching to Wegovy.

Oh no. Bloody Asda’s prices are not great. Going to have to order from somewhere else. Have no idea who! Any recommendations please! Currently on 5mg but thinking of 7.5 and getting 6 5mg doses out of a pen. Worth doing? Is it even cheaper?

@L4ura171986 you could try Curely or Swift Dr.?

Blueyshift · 28/08/2025 14:22

Has IQ released their new prices?

Ihavesomeballs · 28/08/2025 17:00

It's all a massive scam by the online suppliers, I work in an independent pharmacy and we have loads of stock, there is no stock issues. This is all a massive scam by unscrupulous online pharmacies. Vote with your feet guys and stop using them.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2025 17:06

People don’t have a choice. It’s not like we can pick it up easily via a chemist

none near me do it

WorriedRelative · 27/08/2025 23:02

Yes, I ordered Saturday and my pen is already being sent out. Contacted me about dose and were willing to discuss the fact I wanted to lose more so agreed the pen I wanted

My order with Juniper was approved after the online consult, was nice to actually have a back and forth with a real person.

Unfortunately the price for the 15 is £339 which I can’t afford, even with the discount code 😞

I had been hoping it might come out at the pre-Sept prices but no.

I think it does depend where you are. My local pharmacies (2 in the town) offer WLI services in person. Comparing their new September pricing they are higher at the top two doses but not bad to all the other on line pharmacies for the middle two and cheaper at the lower end.

Can you tell us how we go about getting it from a shop front pharmacy? I thought you had to be prescribed by your GP to get any prescription meds supplied through a traditional pharmacy?
I thought online was the only way as I don’t qualify for MJ via the nhs

There are literally hundreds of pharmacies offering this service.

A prescribing pharmacist can prescribe it. Some online places are also prescribed by pharmacists. Lots do in person ones offer it.

If your local pharmacy offers WLI you literally make an appointment to see the pharmacist. You run through a face to face appointment where you are weighed and at the initial appointment you are shown how to use the pen etc.

You are asked about what medicines you take, you give consent for your GP to be notified and a general discussion on your expectations of WLI. You then leave with the pen. This is a paid for service, nothing to do with GP prescription.

Nearly one month later you make another appointment to see pharmacist and your progress is noted and you discuss how you have got on etc and decide whether to stay on the same dose or whether to increase.

It's really straightforward. You leave with your relevant pen dosage and just keep repeating. You build up a rapport with the pharmacist etc.

You just need BMI of at least 27 and a health condition. I think some pharmacies need you to be 30 BMI but at mine it's 27.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2025 17:33

An so they don’t do maintenance /my bmi is 23 so many companies including Superdrug - Asda and med express won’t touch me

where juniper was happy to discuss and put me on 7.5 instead of my 10 I’m usually on

SwitchingUpWLI · 28/08/2025 17:35

Thank you this is really helpful 👍 Do you think some might offer maintenance programs? I will have a look into local pharmacies and see what they offer

It’s not though is it? In person pharmacies have more stock because they’re harder to buy more than one from, more expensive (or they were before the price hikes), and less convenient than just ordering online. They had fewer customers per store than online pharmacies.

Kipperandarthur · 28/08/2025 17:37

You just need the BMI to be 30 or above. No health condition.

It's exactly the same criteria as it is for ordering from an on line pharmacy. It's just that you are visiting your local Chemist/Pharmacy and doing it in person so you don't have to prove who you are with photo ID etc.

You stand on the scales and the pharmacist can see your weight and your height and your rough age as well. You don't have to perhaps "prove" so much as you are there in person for them to accurately be able to see who you are and then they weigh you and assess your height etc.

My local pharmacist has told me he can supply a maximum of x 3 pens at a time if you are travelling or going on holiday etc. This is pretty standard.

Just before the price hike I was able to purchase 3 pens from him as was another local lady I know.

If anything the standards are higher from an in person pharmacist. And surprisingly my local pharmacy is cheaper at the lower doses, equivalent at the middle two but is more expensive at the top two with the recent price increases.

Day Lewis pharmacy - the local one I use is as follows for September onwards
2.5 £133
5 £180
7.5 £255
10 £255
12.5 £330
15 £330

Ah ok just read your post @Blondeshavemorefun so unlikely they will do maintenance then. I might contact a few and ask though, just in case.

I imagine they wouldn’t accept proof of your pen ordering history and that you have come down from a higher weight? (In the way we give proofs to online pharmacies when switching) and they won’t accept if current weight at the physical weight in is in the healthy range?

Yes, exactly. The number of people who can order from an in-person place is self-limiting. Sandra in Stockport and Clare in Cheltenham can both order multiple pens (or try to) from any number of online pharmacies but they're not going to jump in the car and drive to some town on the other side of the country to get them in person.

Similar to @Kipperandarthur I've been able to buy three pens at old prices from the place I get mine. I had my appointment today, brought forward from Monday, and the pharmacist said most current customers similarly now have three pens.

For private supply, or NHS?

Private supply. We also do maintenance but only supply one month at a time. We're not sure when our prices will go up but another independent pharmacy I know off have said the price increase is from 8th Sept. We charge £135 for 2.5mg and 5.mg. we buy them for £99 from supplier.

It is a scam saying there is no stock. There is loads of stock otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get them, but we did and so could they. They are deliberately holding stock until the price increase. My boss said as much, he isn't unscrupulous like a lot of pharmacist are.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/08/2025 18:04

I asked a few chemists near me and they don’t do it at all

but guess maybe big towns may do

I’ve kept all my labels and have from 2/.5 to 15 and back down to 10
