Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Loving these reflections on what we've learnt@Coventree

Loved your post @slightlysmallerPoisonIvy - some really powerful insights about reframing how we think about eating. As @Coventree said, that thought about the body not being a dustbin really resonated with me too.

I think my biggest realisation is that my portion sizes were just too big. I actually ate fairly healthily before MJ... But just too much! I now try to focus on really reducing my carb portions (i.e. only a couple of spoonfuls of rice) and making sure I have plenty of protein. I've also ditched having a "solid" breakfast in favour of a protein smoothie and that suits me as I don't feel too heavy and weighed down afterwards. And I've also bought some smaller 25cm plates so I can really try to focus on reducing my portion sizes. So far so good (though I know the MJ is helping a lot with this too!).

BudgieMom · 29/09/2025 12:05

Hope everyone is having a nice bank holiday! Week 23 weigh in and its 2 off taking me to 2st 11 on MJ and 5 stone in total. Well done on all the losses and nsvs 😊

Scousebloke · 29/09/2025 17:32

@BudgieMom if its bank holiday nobody told me ? Well done on your loss.

BudgieMom · 29/09/2025 19:11

@Scousebloke sorry I'm up in Glasgow our kids are off in Scotland for bank holiday weekend 😊

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 29/09/2025 21:56

@BudgieMom I got very confused for a moment there! Not a bank holiday here in England 😂
Great loss! 5stone is amazing!

@PeachSnail Great loss and NSVs!!

Coventree · 30/09/2025 07:50

Well done @PeachSnailand @BudgieMom 👏🌟

I definitely could overindulge on snack portions across the day @PeachSnail. Thinking about portion control though, I’ve not had the MJ hard stop or feeling full at meal times for a few weeks now (prob since decreasing my dose in response to price rises), but I’m not sure if that’s because I’m used to eating a more reduced amount of food now so am preparing and eating correct quantities, or the MJ is not having the same effect at the lower dose. Something for me to ponder as I’ve put 2lb on/lost 1lb back so far this week (weigh in tomorrow) after a couple of good losses 🤔

GoGoGovy · 30/09/2025 10:15

Morning!

A pathetic half a pound loss this week. These last 5lbs are stubbornly refusing to shift. Nutracheck originally predicted I’d hit target by mid September, then mid October. I daren’t look at what the latest prediction is 😀 .

Zebracat · 30/09/2025 10:50

I’m on holiday this week, and I am ill with covid I think. In a cottage so I could have some control, but I ve eaten quite a lot of crap and had sweet treats- ice cream , cake biscuits and chocolate( not all at once) don’t know which bit is responsible but I dreamed I had d/v and woke up just in time. Not actually been sick but biblical diarrhoea, sulphur burps and I feel clammy and sick. Just forced down some sweet tea and toast, but I don’t know what I need to do to make this go away. Have I just abused the mounjaro privilege, is it the virus or have I eaten something bad? Dh is fine and thinks it’s the virus but he doesn’t understand MJ , can’t believe that 4 biscuits, 6 squares of chocolate and an overly cheesy chicken Caesar salad could do this to a person . Could it?
Please help we are booked into a fancy restaurant tonight. I think we should cancel but Dh thinks I’ll be ok by then.

cannyvalley · 30/09/2025 10:54

Hi all,

medexpress seem to have a £30 off promo code on their site. Incase any medexpressers are looking to reorder. I just got my 5ml pen for about £170.

wlinewbie0425 · 30/09/2025 11:44

@cannyvalleywhere did you see the code I can’t see it on the site? Thanks

hi all been hectic this week so haven’t checked in properly - hope it’s going well for everyone.

haha at the bank holiday confusing everyone I knew where you were straight away @BudgieMom it’s not even most of Scotland let alone the rest of them 😂 hope you had a good one.

well done on all those recent successes im fully plateauing at the moment but trying not to let it get to me - except slightly on the days I veer back into overweight - my body has decided that 24.7-25.1 is where we are staying for a while. It’s so much better than where I was in April so keeping it in perspective and not giving up.

@wlinewbie0425 it was a banner on top of site when I logged into my account , saying last chance to use this code etc….

wlinewbie0425 · 30/09/2025 13:21

I think that’s your personal code cos you were logged in @cannyvalleythey emailed them out to selected previous customers of which I am clearly not a chosen one! and today is last chance to use as they expire end sept.

@Zebracat
I think it is mj. I had half a fruit scone and few weeks ago and the sulphur burps were off the scale and my tummy hurt so bad.

Oh bum. Sorry about that x

cannyvalley · 30/09/2025 15:16

@Zebracatif I eat rich or oily food I get major poops for days! At times I even wistfully look back at my early MJ days of tragic constipation ….

Zebracat · 30/09/2025 15:45

Thanks Merlin and canny. I think it’s the MJ too. Sadly, all I actually can eat today is carbs, I just can’t face anything else. Not much of them though. We postponed the dinner reservation. I haven’t had any explosions for a few hours now, but I still feel really sick.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 30/09/2025 19:48

@GoGoGovy If anyone else posted that they had lost 0.5lbs this week would you tell them that's a pathetic loss? I don't think you would, you would probably be far more kind and encouraging, please try to show yourself that same kindness.
I totally understand being frustrated and disappointed. We all fall in to the comparison trap sometimes, it's hard not to feel like you should be losing more when other people seem to be losing weight so much faster. But using words like pathetic about your own loss is inadvertently saying it about others too. You are five lbs away from your target and weight loss is significantly slower the less you have to lose. I can't remember how much you've lost but I do remember you showed us photos with a huge difference. Nothing about your loss or all that you've achieved so far is pathetic. Everyone here is doing so well and working so hard to get to where they want to be and every loss and every nsv should be celebrated no matter how small or insignificant you might think it is. So well done on your excellent loss this week.

GoGoGovy · 30/09/2025 21:10

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy thank you x.
My total loss of just over two stone, is a lot less than you Mounjaro girls, but I totally get what you are saying. I’m just being impatient.
NSV is I’m a proper size 12 now. I was a 16. I’m short, so this has made a huge difference in how I look and feel.

Onwards and downwards (or staying the same) x

PeachSnail · 30/09/2025 23:23

@GoGoGovy another slow loser over here 👋
I'm on Mounjaro, but seem to be more of a plodder, for whatever reason. I also started out a size 16 and am now a 12 and have lost just over 2 stone since the end of April... So just wanted to let you know you're not on your own!
🐌🐌🐌♥️

GoGoGovy · 01/10/2025 06:49

👋 @PeachSnail . Tbh, I would be quite happy if I could maintain this weight and size. My target weight is to give me a bit of a buffer. Never wanted to be a size 8 or 10, just a healthy weight and small to average size 12. I would like to get my waist measurement down by another couple cms, as that would bring it into the healthy range. I would also like to get rid of the droopy skin. Not sure how to do that.

Congratulations on your loss.
We have all done brilliantly.

PeachSnail · 01/10/2025 07:25

@GoGoGovy yes - I've suddenly had the weird realisation that by targeting my goal weight, I'm actually chasing being a size 10... Like you, I never set out with that particular goal in mind... It feels so distant from how I'd normally think of myself... But, I definitely do have a bit more 'chub' around so I guess I'll just keep at it and if I reach a size 10 then so be it! But I honestly don't think I've been a 10 since my teens / early 20s... My goal is definitely more about being strong and healthy and hopefully remaining that way as I move into my senior years! 💪

Coventree · 01/10/2025 07:26

1lb on this week. First time of putting weight on since starting MJ 🙁.

No discernible reason for it, no over-indulgences. Possibly MJ feeling less effective at the lower dose, but increasing it back up to 7.5mg won’t see me through to early Jan (and I don’t think stopping early Dec is a great idea with all the temptation around).

Big picture loss is still great so trying to keep that in mind - one week of putting on out of all the other 23 weeks of losses isn’t the end of the world. But it still feels a bit shit this morning.

Coventree · 01/10/2025 16:12

Fuck it. I’ve gone back up to 7.5mg to see if that kicks my arse back into gear!

violetmondays · 01/10/2025 17:34

Well done everyone, a loss is a loss no matter how small, and 1lb 'gain' is fluctuation and maybe you just need a number 2 😂

@Zebracat I do hope you're feeing better that sounds awful.

Well I've officially lost 3 stone on MJ! 3.5 stone in total including the half stone I lost before I first injected. Last few weeks have been much slower loss, about a pound a week on average - I guess that's inevitable when you have less to lose. A couple more pounds until target. I could probably lose a few more as a buffer maybe? Not really sure. I am happy as I am now, I am fitting into size 10s and wouldn't want to be any smaller than that really - but worried about maintenance now. I have loads of food-related plans between now and Christmas so that might be a challenge.

Been really busy with work and birthdays the last few weeks so haven't been able to check in as much but still catching up with posts when I can and sending positive vibes to everyone.

PumpKim · 01/10/2025 19:44

@GoGoGovy @PeachSnail I'm also a slow loser, just over 2 stones lost and some way to go yet! I'm beginning to think I'm the slowest in the gang 😬

@Zebracat sorry you've been poorly, I was ill on Monday, just came on all of a sudden, awful stomach pain high up and vomiting, I was scared it was gallstones... Possibly is. Hope not! Not sure if it was linked to MJ or a bug but I hadn't eaten anything particularly rich, fatty or indulgent but was absolutely fine the next day. It did mean I skipped my jab as it was due Monday. I'm going to do it tonight instead.

Just taken delivery of my next pen from Get a Drip, 7.5 with new customer discount was £185. They approved and dispatched within 24 hours of me submitting everything so really happy with them
