Creating this in advance, as the old thread is suddenly moving quickly due to recent events. No matter what challenges lie ahead we are still making amazing progress - so let’s keep supporting one another along the way as we approach 4 months ‘on the pen’.

Wednesday weigh-in - a fantastic 3lbs lost this week 🎉🎉🎉

That makes 52lbs (3st 10lbs) lost in total 😮, with 1st 3lbs left to go to get to healthy bmi…c’mon! 💪

@Coventree
That is a fantastic loss.
As I am a stone from a healthy BMI my losses are slowing. I would love another 3lbs lost. I'm now hoping for a 1-2lbs. I think I need to up my exercise on non work days!
Well done you! 💪👏👏🌟

Seahawk80 · 24/09/2025 09:51

Congrats @Coventree!

Wednesday weigh in for me too, just under 1lb off this week. I’ll take that as I really didn’t hold back in Paris. My weight loss has been slow and steady and while i haven’t seen dramatic results I’m quite happy that I’ve still lost overall even with a busy summer with lots of holidays and I haven’t felt like I’m missing out. Hopefully that means this will be sustainable.

I was also freezing yesterday! Huddled under a blanket watching TV! I usually refuse to put the heating on before October but may have to relent!

bridgetreilly · 24/09/2025 10:18

Oh! I hadn’t thought about being cold from not having as much fat. I have been using my heated throw on the sofa to avoid putting the actual heating on so far.

Currently feeling crap from eating way too many crisps and a mince pie last night. Scales are just not moving here at the moment on my 6.25mg dose.

dozywelshbird · 24/09/2025 10:45

wow, some amazing losses!

Also freezing here too, last night me and the dog were under the blanket while DS and DH were in shorts 🙄

NSV to report, I am now back in my size 14 leather biker jacket - I haven't had that on for a good few years and will wear to the office tomorrow 😊

that's rubbish @bridgetreilly are you tracking your calories at the moment?
I had stopped tracking in MFP the other week and it does make a difference, things just creep in and before you know it you are over your daily quota then your weekly quota and then your calorie deficit has gone.

I know its a faff having to log everything but maybe just do it for a week and see how you go? good luck...

cannyvalley · 24/09/2025 20:25

Amazing news on mega losses @Coventree, sticker for you this week! ⭐

im living for your biker jacket tastic Thursday plans @dozywelshbird, I bet you look fab in it!

@bridgetreilly Like Christmas mince pie?! Hope you feel better soon. Maybe drink loads of water and flush it out. Sorry the scales are being stubborn… keep trucking, remember how far you have come, you got this !

@Seahawk80 nice work on the loss despite the paris getaway. Hope you had a lovely time.

@Merlin23 you are inspiring me. I’ve not done any exercise at all , but I really should. Get it girl, that healthy BMI is within your sights!

I’ve had several colleagues tell me how well and slim I look this week. I think it must be really showing now. It feels so good !
I’ve bought a few nice bits of winter clothes as I can’t bear to wear my baggy ones anymore. Might have gone a bit nuts in the online next sale 🤣

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 24/09/2025 22:01

Great losses and NSVs!

@Coventree wow 52lbs is amazing!

@cannyvalley Yay for nice compliments! Shopping for new clothes is so much more fun when you're feeling good about getting smaller instead of crying in the changing rooms about getting bigger!

@dozywelshbird size 14 woohoo!!

@bridgetreilly I just got my heated throw out of the winter storage cupboard, I think it'll be permanently switched on till next summer!

I have been on a fun shopping trip today and didn't even need to leave my house or spend any money. I started going through my wardrobes to get rid of some bigger stuff to make space for buying new smaller clothes, it somehow didn't occur to me that I might find old stuff that now fits!
I found an old favourite winter coat that I thought I got rid of long ago, I have been nowhere near squeezing into for years AND IT FITS! I found loads of cosy jumpers and cardigans (which brought much joy because as previously mentioned I am freezing!) that I hadn't even worn before. I'm rubbish at taking clothes back to the store if they don't fit, they just get thrown in the back of the wardrobes with the tags still on and forgotten about because maybe someday I'll lose weight and they'll fit... while I just kept getting bigger and bigger.
IT IS SOMEDAY AND THEY FIT!!
I filled some bags for the charity shop too, I bet they are well stocked with plus size stuff since mounjaro! I'm getting rid of all the too big stuff and am not going to keep them just in case I gain it all back because I am not going to let that happen.

I really should try putting some on vinted or ebay but if I plan to do that I'll probably keep procrastinating and it'll never get done and I'm in declutter my life mode and want it all gone. Does anyone sell stuff on there? Is it complicated and time consuming and not really worth it? Or is it easy to do to make a few £ towards the new skinnier clothes?

GoGoGovy · 25/09/2025 07:43

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy welcome to the ‘shop my wardrobe’ club. It’s such a great feeling when you find a lovely item that now fits.
Although I have sold stuff on Vinted before, I’m coming to the conclusion that it’s better to donate and just get it out of the house. Unless the clothes you are selling are desirable labels or v.v cheap, there’s a good chance they will just sit there. Saying that, lots of people I know have done very well on Vinted. Not sure about eBay.
Have you got the wheriing app? It’s great for mix and match outfit ideas. You basically take photos of your clothes or download links to them and then create outfits. Very time consuming at the start, but once the photos are on it’s quite easy. Here’s one of my examples. Probably not to everyone’s taste 😀

cannyvalley · 25/09/2025 08:04

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy I have sold stuff on Vinted, but like @GoGoGovy I have found it quicker and easier just to donate it in one big trip. I don’t have loads of time to be running back and forth to the post locker, though to be fair the process is really quite easy. It’s all digital and you just scan the details at the postbox and put the parcel in. But it does feel like another job on my to do list , so I generally don’t bother. This year I sold a few designer bits (that I also bough my preloved, I’m not that fancy!) on Vinted, and used the credit to buy other things.

i recognise this is a privileged position, and in the past I’ve certainly needed to sell outgrown things on eBay in order to get the kids and myself clothes with the credit, as I didn’t have any money to spare.

I usually donate my own and teen daughters clothes to my local women’s refuge and women’s homeless support charities. I used to work in a refuge and when we got donations it was a really exiting time for the women who often came I with very little x

PeachSnail · 25/09/2025 08:11

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy I do use Vinted A LOT these days. Personally, I find it really easy to use. They make the postage really simple by automatically generating a postage label (either digital or printable) and then you can just take it to your local shop/locker (I have one really close by, which helps).
But, as @GoGoGovy says, stuff from more premium brands (i.e. Boden) goes more quickly... Or stuff which is more eye-catching/unusual. I do have several bags of stuff just waiting to be sold... So it depends if you can tolerate that or whether you'd just prefer to get rid!
Generally, you don't tend to make loads of money from sales, but I prefer to see it as "Vinted tokens" that I use to spend on other stuff on the site... It doesn't translate to much in the real world.
Anyway... That's some of my thoughts on Vinted. Hope that's useful! 😊

wlinewbie0425 · 25/09/2025 08:19

Well done to everyone this week loads of great scale and non scale victories all round 👏 👏 👏

forgot to post my Weds weigh in - was just 0.6lb for me but that’s what I’m expecting for this final leg of the journey. Slow and steady is just fine as like many of you I am now able to fit back into lots of my own clothes and enjoying this autumn so much more than the last few. Anyone else feel a bit paralysed by the choice now when they open the wardrobe in the morning? I had got used to only having a capsule of stuff that actually fit that I rotated as I never wanted to buy stuff in bigger sizes!

Happy Thursday all.

Morning All, I’m def struggling with clothes @wlinewbie0425 ! I’ve been lucky enough yo have a few late summer holidays so my summer wardrobe has lasted a bit but now we’re properly into autumn aren’t we? I’m a bit of a hoarder so have a few things from “the before times” (ie pre-pandemic as that’s when the pile-on really happened). But in buying new stuff off Vinted I’ve been drawn to nice dressy things so daily wear is a bit lacking. Im down 3st but only really one trouser size. I tried on some trousers in fat face the other week as want some of their cords and the 18s were a bit baggy. I’ve bought a pair of 16s from Vinted but not expecting them to quite fit yet!

An NSV is that I bought one of those Halara jumpsuits that you can go to the loo in without getting totally undressed - it required a lot of contortion to get into it a month ago, but gave it a go this morning and it was much easier!

Coffeeandallthebooks · 25/09/2025 10:34

Good morning to all my back into fashion people!
It's lovely to hear of people getting back into old clothes they had forgotten or ruled out, it is good thrifting when you can wear it again yourself!

I have lost 1lb again today and am quite happy. Trying not to buy lots, although as I haven't been a 16 in years, I have had a few purchases of cheap essentials.

I've treated myself to hiking boots and will get a big winter coat as DH is away for a week next month and I have to walk the dog in lovely Scottish October weather 🙄. Without my insulating podge 🥶

@RubyJuno what is this accessible Halara jumpsuit of which you speak? It sounds like the holy grail of jumpsuits if you can pee without having to get totally undressed!

Seahawk80 · 25/09/2025 18:29

I find with Vinted some people are just there to scam you - I had someone today want a refund as the converse trainers were faded - as per the photos! It’s a lot of hassle but agree good for more valuable bits. I tend to only buy / sell kids stuff on there. I like to try things on so prefer the shops. maybe when I know my size better and have a smaller belly that will change!

I think I must have really been squeezing into my old clothes! I notice they fit so much better now and more things are comfortable!

Merlin23 · 25/09/2025 18:39

I've been going to the shops trying on different brands. Then look on vinted knowing what size in what brand.

Hawkmoth · 25/09/2025 21:33

I have just bought a red Hobbs coat on Vinted. I don't even know why, but a child in the house said it was nice. My children are sometimes a bit tricksy however.

I still need a waterproof. The one I have is 6 years old and a size 26. Today's coat is a 16. I think I can be happy getting a bit damp in it.

RubyJuno · 25/09/2025 21:56

I’ve had really good experiences both buying and selling on Vinted. I’ve made around a grand selling old clothes over the last couple of years and bought most of my own and kids stuff - hardly go to real shops at all any more! I’ve had no scam experiences at all, just a couple of lost parcels evict have been compensated as per the process.

@Coffeeandallthebooks its the Halara eezy peezy jumpsuits you’ll want. I’ve got one of the sleeveless ones in a wine colour but they look to have all manner of fabulous long-sleeved ones in now. Fab colours too.

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 25/09/2025 22:18

@GoGoGovy Yay I'm in another club! Wardrobe shopping is fun! I knew there was very skinny stuff in there that'll I'll never fit into again but wasn't expecting to find stuff that fits me now.

@PeachSnail I like the vinted tokens idea, I'd very quickly refill the wardrobes I am trying to declutter!

@cannyvalley yes to donating to the women's refuge, I always donated kid's clothes there, I will check and see if they want plus sized clothes

@RubyJuno I'm not a jumpsuit person but I do love Halara's jeans, they are so comfy!

@Seahawk80 Scammers is a worry! Do you have to also refund the postage in that situation? Refunding the item price isn't so bad if it would otherwise have been collecting dust or donated but if you have to refund postage to you'd end up losing money not making any!

@Merlin23 That's a good idea, it's so hard to know your new size when shopping online

@Hawkmoth 26 - 16!! wow that's a huge difference!!

Thanks all for the thoughts on vinted/donating, it was very helpful. I'm leaning towards just donating it all because I know it will sit around in piles cluttering up the place while I procrastinate. And even after all the photographing and listing things, then there's finding time to be back and forth to the collection place, and it could be every day because you don't know when things will sell and they have to be sent quickly and when looking into it yesterday I saw you have to print postage labels at home and that put me right off because my printer is so temperamental and always refuses to do anything when documents are important or time sensitive. I really don't want to add so many more things to the to-do list when the to-do list is already overwhelming!
But then @RubyJuno mentions making a thousand quid and makes me think I should probably stop being lazy and do it!

Hawkmoth · 25/09/2025 22:34

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy yes... It's weird to think about it really. However, I've only lost 1 jeans size with this MJ four stone off!

RubyJuno · 26/09/2025 00:19

@slightlysmallerPoisonIvy you can select your postage options so there’s no printing at home. I use either Evri print in store or InPost lockers where you just scan a qr code and chuck it in. I’ve definitely found Vinted very worthwhile but I can’t deny I have 5 large bags of clothes which are uploaded and waiting to see if anyone buys… you just can’t tell what will be snapped up and what will hang around for months! At some point I’m going to have to admit defeat and charity shop them.

I used to donate loads to my local Mind shop but wonder why I never saw anything decent in there. Have now realised anything of a good brand is collected and taken to some central point to be sold online or in shops in more upmarket areas. There’s still some charitable benefit obviously, but it pisses me off a bit that my area isn’t deemed worthy of anything other than 2nd hand Primark and Tu. So I’m being a bit more stubborn about flogging my Boden and Joanie for myself!!

Crunchymum · 26/09/2025 08:26

Morning all,

Weigh-in day for me and -2lbs taking me to exactly 42lbs / 3st lost.

Losing this amount was unimaginable to me a few short months ago.

I'm back in a size 14 coat (rain mac that has never, ever done up on me and I can now button it up over a jumper!) Plus a few other jackets I used to wear open now zip up. Again they are size 14.

Trouser wise my leggings are a bit loose now. To my utter shame I was still wearing maternity leggings despite my youngest being 7yo (I still find maternity leggings more comfortable to be honest). All my other trousers are elasticated Palazzo style so I'm still in my larger sizes. 3st down and my tummy is still rather large so I've not noticed my trousers feeling too big?

I'm aiming for another 1st 5lbs so still a way to go but I'm feeling very optimistic. I can't believe I've lost 3st.

Merlin23 · 26/09/2025 08:27

Weekly weigh in
2lbs lost
So that is 55lbs in total 1lb until 4 stone.
SW 202 lbs
CW 147 lbs
TW 130-140 lbs
135 lbs is healthy weight

I cant believe how mj has changed my life. I'm definitely fitter and healthier. We have lots of stairs at work, I now at the age of 53 and running up and down them. And no longer get out of breath going up.
I feel like mj has given my body a kick. Last time I lost weight I couldn't shift anything once I hit 11 stone (154lbs) so to be 7 lbs under that and feeling like the weight will still go is such a boost.
Happy Friday everyone. 💪😊

Merlin23 · 26/09/2025 08:29

@crunchymum
I feel all of what you have said!
Congratulations on another great loss!

Crunchymum · 26/09/2025 08:34

Congratulations to you too @Merlin23 🎊

Your progress just astounded me (in the best way!).

What a life changing few months we've all had hey?

slightlysmallerPoisonIvy · 26/09/2025 23:12

Oh that's interesting, thanks for the info @RubyJuno !

well done on all the great losses!
