Hi. I'd decided to bite the bullet and start on Mounjaro in September. And then I heard about the price rises. So now I'm trying to decide whether to start on Wegovy instead (and if so, which provider to use) whether I want extra support or just a prescription, whether I want to spend the money on therapy and a person trainer for a couple of months instead to get good habits and then see where things settle in terms of price. It whether to try Mounjaro in the house that I respond well to a low dose.

I'm interested in hearing other people's plans and, honestly, in having other people at this stage to flail around with as we compare notes and support each other.

Are they not raising the price of Wegovy too? I lost 4 stone on it and have kept it off.

There has not been any talk of that at the moment.

I've got the impression that the lower doses of MJ are not as affected by the price rise. Yes, they're going up but not to the ridiculous amounts quoted.

So you could start it and never go above the lowest dose or even the 5 as many people do that. I've no experience with W so can't help really but MJ does seem to be the better one.

I'm 21 weeks in on 2.5 still and won't increase - no need to as I've lost 46lb and feel great.

You need to wait for providers to release costs and see the difference and if you can cover it.

The difficulty with this is that some people just won't respond to the lower doses, and the OP won't know if that's the case for her until she starts.

In your shoes op, I'd wait a couple of weeks to see what the prices will be and whether Novo Nordisk hold their price, they got the same letter from Trump as Eli Lilly did. If NN hold firm wegovy might be the better option.

I think I'm going to hang on for a couple of weeks, do a blood test and see what happens. Juniper seen to have a good Wegovy deal at the moment, so I'll go with them if that stays the same and if not, see what I can afford.

I signed up and paid a couple of days before the price increases were announced but my consultation appointment for approval isn’t until next week so I’m in limbo at the moment. Not sure whether to wait it out and hope I’m approved (should be) and they still have stock (it says out of stock online) or cancel and get a refund. I guess then I’d look at Wegovy but I’d rather have Mounjaro.

I’m keeping my head in the sand at the moment about the price increases in the hope that lower doses will rise less and maybe I can stay on a lower dose for longer than I’d previously planned.

Fingers crossed that the price rises settle down and don’t stay as high as they’re looking at the moment (ever the optimist 🙂).

Hi @UnimaginableWindBird l was all set to try MJ to from September worked myself up to it as l have been dithering about it for months. I think l am either going to go with @Yellowsubmarine55 way or Wegovy but l think l am going to wait till 1st of September to decide. I have 7stone to lose and ideally l only want to be on it for about 6/7 months as l have just joined a calorie counting group that supports you with a plan re-educates you about food which l think is what l need.

Good luck hopefully l will see you on a thread l will need to be a secret Jabber so will need online support.

I’ve been on this medication for 26 weeks! I think currently if you can make use of codes and discounts it’s reasonable for the time being
