Can't find mj in stock

Imissgoldengrahams · 16/08/2025 11:58

I only have 2 doses left in my pen
I hadn't ordered before now as had to wait for pay day
But now I can't find any chemist with mj in stock
Why are people so selfish and panic buying 😩

What has your current supplier said about stock levels for current customers? It may be that in a week or two you can reorder with them. Does the 2 doses left include using the remaining liquid for an additional dose?

FedupMum2024 · 16/08/2025 12:04

So in other words you are allowed to buy the stuff whenever it suits you but as soon as other people buy it they are 'selfish'.

Please do not accuse others of being selfish. You don’t know others situations or circumstances.

Be pissed off with Eli Lilly for the short notice or the pharmacies mismanaging orders. Not those buying, it is not their responsibility to weight up whether your medical or financial needs are greater than theirs or vice versa.

How do you know everyone else is buying it to stock up though?

Edited

It is selfish, I just read a post that someone has 4 months worth of it now
There's no need
I'm not going to be able to afford it either when the price goes up but I have no intention of stock piling. I would of preferred one last pen but I might just have to go cold turkey

Login to your current supplier and see if they’ll let you order as an ‘existing customer’. I tend to shop around most months but used Pharmacy 2U last time. I had an email saying they’re prioritising existing customers so I’ve just ordered my next pen through their portal and with no problems. Obviously it’s not been approved yet but hopefully it’ll all be ok.

Also, I fully expect everything to calm down in a week or two. Panic buying helps no one and I think everyone should do their best to order normally.

NoTouch · 16/08/2025 12:15

Did you even read or reflect on what I wrote? In the few seconds before starting a reply?

I get and understand you are pissed off as it is a dreadful situation made by Eli Lilly and the pharmacies, but without knowing others circumstances, ironically, you are the only one we know for sure is being selfish because you are only thinking of yourself.

12purplepencils · 16/08/2025 12:19

I think it's been really badly handled by Eli Lilly. Telling pharmacies at the same time as customers and a short lead in time,

My supplier, Swift, paused all orders before I had a chance to buy. (I don't keep a spare pen so only have a few doses left too).

Zava said they are supplying returning customers only so as I used to be with them I have ordered but who knows if it will be honoured (been a gap of a few months with them) and when it will come.

In the mean time I think the only thing to do is take smaller doses to make the pen last, if weight loss stalls or you put on slightly it will come off again once this all blows over hopefully and pharmacies are restocked

You may just have to try and lose weight the traditional way until you can get buy some more!

Time4changeagain · 16/08/2025 12:39

It’s not selfish! It is ordering earlier so they can afford to stay on the medication for longer at the same price as they are paying now.
I have ordered early to save MYSELF £100’s in the next couple of months.
It really isn’t other people’s fault that you have to wait until your payday to order.

soupyspoon · 16/08/2025 12:48

Is it possible to 'stock up' in any case, dont they have a use by date?

SwitchingUpWLI · 16/08/2025 12:48

Hi OP, have you tried yourmedicals? I managed to order with them yesterday, waiting for approval but the order went through ok and they had stock of all pens in (2.5mg to 15mg)

Oh thats helpful. People need to get it while they can then.

lunar1 · 16/08/2025 12:56

done you have a regular supplier? I’m with an in person consultant rather than online. She emailed all her clients yesterday to tell us that she has our prescriptions for the next 6 months at least without having to increase prices.

l3tsdanc3 · 16/08/2025 12:58

I also can’t get it - I’ve only ever been with 2 pharmacies and both are out of stock. As I’m nearing goal weight I don’t think anyone will accept me now as a new customer - not sure, but was really happy with my providers as they supported a maintenance approach and was planning on weaning off slowly. Looks like I’m going to have to go cold turkey in 2 weeks time

Fairfaxandflavor · 16/08/2025 13:05

@SwitchingUpWLI ,I used your medicals, for my initial two pens they were veeery slow in fulfilling the order, like 2 weeks I think from first ordering, so I don't know what they'll be like with an inundation of orders, I had to constantly badger them, kept saying they were having a high volume of orders?!? (this was in Feb) they did supply it in the end, but bear in mind that was my experience.

bugalugs45 · 16/08/2025 13:10

Loads in stock if you bother to look around , it’s just that it might be delayed by a few days due to high demand ,
I ordered 2 pens yesterday ( from 2 different suppliers ) haven’t had confirmation yet from either but hedging my bets & I don’t care if you think I’m selfish, first come first served in my book !

My bmi is 25 , I’m practically at goal , haven’t even refused by any pharmacy & I’ve used 3 different ones at this BMI or similar ( less than 27 ) , the last half a stone is taking forever to shift but I’m scared to go cold turkey …
farmacia, IQdoctor & boots were last 3 for info

Peridot1 · 16/08/2025 13:22

You could think about switching to Wegovy? Quick Meds sent out a quite informative email today detailing the differences and explaining about switching.

marblebutterfly · 16/08/2025 13:28

I have nothing left. Injection day is on Wednesday and I couldn't pick up my prescription until today because I've been abroad. Just been to the pharmacy and nada. They have taken payment though. I know there's technically a dose left in the pen but I can't get it out. Zava have closed their phone lines and it could take 4-6 business days for a reply, so I'm going to be screwed on Wednesday. I was thinking of switching to wegovy anyway so I might just ask for a refund if they can't get the stock and switch. This is only my 2nd month so probably am better doing this.

Order some insulin needles and use one to get the last dose out, I’ve been doing this for 9 months.

I switched to IQDoctor yesterday and bought a 10mg pen. Be prepared to send a photo of your last prescription.
