If you panic bought, what will happen when they finish?

I have 2 pens in the fridge already (as I use the 5th dose) and panic ordered 2 pens last night from 2 of the providers that I've used before.

So that will keep me going for 4/5 months. But then what? I'm worrying that pharmacies won't allow me to order a 10mg pen with a 4/5 month gap since I last ordered one. Will they make me go back to 2.5?

I'm worried because IQdoctor don't allow a gap of more than 5 weeks between orders, and PharmacyExpress is 6 weeks.

Do you think they'll change the rules and allow the new orders a few months down the line, knowing so many people stockpiled?

(PLEASE this is not a thread to bash me for buying 2 pens. I have been so upset all last night and today, so don't need to be made to feel worse)

I ordered 3 as Oushk recommended at the time. They said there would be no problem in 3 months time as they'll have records of the larger order. I needed to order yesterday anyway as I took my last dose of my pen today.

Oushk have reduced their Wegovy prices and are helping people switch to Wegovy or alternatives.

I'll be nearly at Christmas before I need a new pen, so I'll decide then when more is known about the situation.

But you can get it elsewhere, there are no shortages of the 2.5mg

I buy pens every 3-4 weeks at 15mg whilst using the 5th dose and micro dosing 10mg so I already had 2 full pens in the fridge.

I've then purchased from 2 suppliers who are happy for me to buy in bulk x3 pens each, plus my usual supplier, plus an additional discount code I could to use for medexpress. So hopefully by end of next week, I'll have about 10 pens ready to go for the rest of my journey then I should be at goal. So I don't plan on needing anymore.

Yes I'm keeping an eye on expiring dates and it looks like the dates are March 2027 so loads of time.

I've lost 4 stone so far, with another 6 stone to go until I am in the "overweight" category and I knew this was a long 18 month weightloss journey and there's no way I'm buying £350 pens every month for possibly 12 months. That's ridiculous.

I'm well aware of the many threads here where there are people jabbing to lose 2-3 stone until they are BMI "healthy". And if I were lucky enough to be one of those, I could possibly suck up the increased cost for a couple of months. But I have a longer journey and so I said no, I'm not paying that for such a long time.

Don't worry about it OP..its called sour grapes. Usually ppl that act out at others do that to avoid personal criticism..essentially they missed the ball/joined the party late so missed out, but it's always everyone else's fault..victim mentality! If only people reflected more and went internally instead of acting out, the world would be a much better place!

Anyhoo, I was at work yesterday so by time I found out at 6pm, Oushk were out of 15 and 12.5 and I'm using 15mg but was planning on tapering down because I've strugged to eat on it for 5 weeks! So I bought 2 x 10mg pens and will taper down using it and counting clicks and using 5th dose.
I'm sure it won't be an issue to reorder, take a photo of the boxes and keep the email of the order. Lots will be in the same boat.

@PestoHoliday ,well your medicals are still badgering me to stock up(with a countdown clock ticking until the 1st of Sep ffs) so presumably they have stock, they're also selling bundles, which they have always done, I've always bought the bundles because I had a niggling feeling that this might happen,so I've always had a stock in the fridge, now I'm losing at a slower pace( because I'm at goal officially,) I'm just taking a micro dose from them. They're not the quickest or the cheapest. Which is why I swapped to chemist 4U, but they have always fulfilled my order eventually.

I don't think it will be a problem as long as you keep evidence of your orders. I take a photo of the prescription label on my boxes and keep those in case I want to change supplier. But you can also get copies of orders online. I can still login to old suppliers and see my old orders there.

Absolutely. Some people were quicker than others, that's life. I wish I was one of the quicker ones but I don't begrudge them their orders.
I am on 12.5, was planning on going up to 15. By the time I was able to get online, I couldn't get any of either. So I also, ordered 10 instead and will taper down now. It's not ideal but it is what it is.

To the people who felt the need to bash, thanks for being incredibly unhelpful and for ignoring my original post. You have absolutely no idea of my financial circumstances and if ordering 2 pens makes me an arsehole then fine, I'll wear that title to save me potentially £400.

If both of my pens get approved, I've worked out it'll take me up to 21st Dec if I do 2 pens at 5mg then 2 pens at 7.5. Then I'll deal with the fallout then if suppliers are refusing to give me higher pens after such a long gap. That's Decembers problem!

Are you genuinely going to say I’m an arshole for that? Almost every provider will understand what’s happened with this, as most have allowed the bulk buying

I suspect there will be a glitch in pricing initially but Eli Lilly are likely to negotiate pricing contracts with companies moving forward. Especially if many move over to other treatments. NHS pricing for Mounjaro is not increasing. But realised there will be some increase for private prescriptions but may not end up being as high as current increased once it all calms down.

Two providers have already confirmed prices below the highest list price - medicine marketplace has released all pricing and confirmed that their 15mg will be £271 (£59 below the list price), oushk have confirmed a range of £160-£320 for all pens. There was a document floating around on Reddit a couple of days ago that purported to state the discounts that will be offered, no idea how true it is.

After seeing them mentioned on here I looked at Your Medicals who are not my usual supplier.

I filled in the questionnaire honestly, gave my GP details and it then allowed me to buy a 15mg pen. Am very surprised that they didn't want a photo or proof of my last prescription...maybe I will get an email later asking for that.

They do ‘keep’ the use by/expiry is long and they only have to be used within 30 days once opened - that’s why people can buy more.

My supplier would let you buy x 2 pens - I reordered Monday (only 1 pen) but looked on the day increase was announced and they’ve already upped their prices!!! 😡

Please ignore my previous nonsense...just received an email to activate my account where it does ask for photos, proof of previous prescription etc!

If you re ordering from the same supplier they will have a record you ordered several pens at once . If you ordered from multiple suppliers so say have 6 pens 3 from each. And try and re order in 6month. Both suppliers will think you have had. 3bmonth break as they gave you a 3 month supply

People will be able to show evidence of purchases from different places though. I don’t think there is anything to be concerned about here

Yes I think every pharmacy will know what’s happened and be able to look at the receipts and realise why it’s been a long time between orders.
