What to do?? Golden dose

Currently on 12.5mg and it’s working well.

I normally jab on a Sat (so tomorrow). Have come to the end of the pen so it’s golden dose time.

However, I’m on holiday from Thurs next week. I’d rather not take a pen with me to Greece as there’s the likelihood of it getting too warm and wasting a brand new pen 😳 Especially considering 12.5mg pens are going to be worth a king’s ransom very soon…

So, I have a few options:

1. do I jab early next week? Thurs rather than Sat?

2. Or try to take the golden dose a few days later this week and hope it lasts over the holiday?

3. split the golden dose taking some tomorrow as normal then some just before I go away?

I would not do 1 you risk bad side effects ruining hol. 2 might be better than 3 as you can use willpower for next few days easier at home but risks a bigger spike just before hol as you will go from lower to high. Run it on one of the apps to see the swing.

3 maybe.

or my option 4 would be… take a dose from new pen tomorrow and leave safely at home. Take golden dose and syringe with you for next jab. Assuming 1 week hol then resume new pen for next jab at home. Yes you will go over the pen life by 5 days but you already do the extra dose so you are not a rigid rule follower and I would personally risk assess that as low. New pen dose days would be 0, gap week, 14,21,28 and golden on 35

I would do this week’s jab today, so one day early. And then next week jab before you go on Thursday. So you’ll have 6 days in between each jab. Only if you’ve had no bad side effects though.

What is going to best for you to enjoy your holiday, max effects or loosen up for a week?

I, personally, would probably inject one day late this week, go and enjoy holiday and inject on Saturday/normal jag day when I am back.

I’d do what @Snozzlemaid said 👍. I often move my day around if I’m travelling. I’ve also skipped a week because I didn’t want to risk a pen not being stored properly on holiday.

Your pen is fine up to 30 DegC. Is it going to be hotter than that in your room on holiday? I’d take my new pen and carry on as normal if I were you

I think it will be, yes!
We’re off to Greece so very likely be hotter than 30c. Won’t have the air conditioning on all the time.

Thanks for all the ideas. That’s great. I hadn’t thought of opening the new one and using that.

i did consider going cold turkey over the holiday but think that’s just asking for trouble 😆
