So unethical of the company! It feels like they waited until they had a large enough number of people 'hooked' and then hike the prices with very little notice. I anticipate a rush to stock pile, followed by shortages and massive disappointment for those who can't afford to continue.

Apologies- just seen someone else started a thread as I was writing this

I am usually a bit sceptical of press stories such as this as they frequently exaggerate for dramatic effect (especially in the Sun).

On this occasion though I think that there is substance to it, we will have to wait and see what happens to prices with all of our suppliers in September.

Sheffters · 14/08/2025 17:01

Nothing on sky news or BBC news yet. Once it hits the headlines I will believe it. However, have tried to order my next pen and the website is crashing so people are likely panic buying now.

Overtheatlantic · 14/08/2025 17:03

I’m waiting for the dust to settle before panicking. We don’t yet know how these price increases will impact consumers.

SilenceInside · 14/08/2025 17:04

@Sheffters there are articles in the telegraph and FT about it.

caringcarer · 14/08/2025 17:09

Probably because it's going to be available on NHS soon. So they are going to home prices because of this.

SilenceInside · 14/08/2025 17:18

@caringcarer it's nothing to do with the NHS. It's not going to be widely available on the NHS for several years. It's to do with the US administration and Trump issues orders that the price in the US for Mounjaro must be reduced, so the manufacturer is raising prices elsewhere to compensate.

Changeforthis79 · 14/08/2025 19:32

This is so unfair I've just started on it and it's working for me when nothing else has. My thoughts are spiralling out of control I need to lose weight and I've been so unsuccessful before. I was struggling to afford it at the prices it is now 😭

Changeforthis79 · 14/08/2025 19:40

It's not available for everyone on the NHS though.I'm 15 and a half stone but because I have no other conditions(yet) I was told a couple of months ago that I'd have to go through 2 years of other treatments that I've already tried and haven't worked before I eligable to get it on the NHS.I feel fat and useless right now.Mounjaro is the only thing that stops the 'food noise' Absolutely gutted

My provider has already increased prices - I only reordered on Monday too!
