What do you do on a dinner date while on WLIs?

I’m on 7.5mg MJ at the moment and am also dating. Just been asked out for dinner by someone who I’d really like to go on a date with but I know I’m not going to be able to eat anything! (Only just started on 7.5 and suppression is very high, planning on dropping down next week but nothing I can do about it till then). I also have no interest in alcohol (something else that’d usually do on a first date). What excuse can I give to say no to the meal??

Any excuse you give will look exactly like that, an excuse. And there will be no first date at that point.

so, if you want to go out with them you are going to have to be honest about why that doesn’t work for you and suggest an alternative.

There is no way in the world I can say I’m on WLIs 😱 I’m generally open about it but I draw the line with a potential date

Either suggest a different thing to do or choose something you can pick at like tapas or a sharing platter?

I wouldn’t be telling someone I don’t know well my medical information either.

then you need to see if you can find something else on - I really fancy going to this festival / event - and suggest that as an alternative.

I’ve been out to eat loads of times on Mounjaro, I have a starter and a side instead of a main meal. Recently that’s been things like buffalo wings with tenderstem broccoli roasted in garlic and chilli at Frankie & Bennies it made for a really tasty meal but was small enough and low enough in calories to work.

Other times I’ve had the half roast chicken with salad, or Raman works really well as generally pretty light and low calorie if you choose a veggie version and you can just eat as much of the noodles as you fancy and leave the rest.

I came to suggest this. Tapas or mezze type place - it’s much less obvious how much you do or don’t eat. If you can’t cover and it becomes really obvious just make light of it that you had a big lunch earlier or similar. Can you time the date for end of the MJ week close to next jab when suppression lower?
