Mounjaro v wegovy v the others

How do you decide which one to start on?

Unless there is a reason you’ve been advised to take one of the others - eg diabetes, heart condition then Mounjaro every time. Superior results in all trials and anecdotally on a massive scale now. The others may be slightly cheaper but seems a false economy when results will be slower and possibly less successful overall.

Mounjaro and Wegovy are weekly injections. The only "other" is Nevolat which is the generic version of Saxenda, which is a daily injection.

Mounjaro was shown to be more effective than Wegovy in terms of the average weight lost over the course of the clinical trials. Both Wegovy and Mounjaro produced more weight loss than Nevolat/Saxenda.

I definitely didn't want to inject daily, and Saxenda wasn't available when I started, and Nevolat hadn't been approved yet so they were off the table. I went for Mounjaro due to the better results.

Some people choose Wegovy for some of the non-weight loss related possible benefits that have started to be reported from ongoing clinical trials, like heart health. There may be other reasons, like interactions with other medication, where one is more suitable than the other.
