Insomnia

As you can see from the time, I am really struggling with insomnia. I’ve never been a great sleeper, but it is much worse with Mounjaro. Anyone else? Did it pass? I’m definitely going to love injecting to a Monday morning. But the insomnia is all week.

👋
I’ve been on MJ for a year and this has only recently become a problem. Like you I don’t sleep all that well at the best of times but it’s been a lot worse just lately. Thankfully I have just reached my goal weight so I’m gradually reducing the dose now and hoping things will start to improve. Slightly apprehensive about whether I can maintain without MJ, or whether there will be a sweet spot dose which is high enough to prevent weight regain but low enough not to cause insomnia and my other annoying newish side effect, low blood pressure.

On Saturday night I didn’t get to sleep til 5am and I was panicking that I’d never sleep again!
ordered some melatonin and some kalms tablets incase it happens again.
I was totally wired. Had to put headphones in and some podcasts on to quieten the chatter in my head. Spent yesterday like a zombie but then last night slept 10 hours no problem.
ive since stopped anything but water after 1pm
nothing after dinner.

I mean any drinks apart from water from 1pm and no food after dinner!

Yes, I have definitely suffered from insomnia, usually a few nights after I have injected, However some weeks not at all and yet other weeks it seems to be for 3 or 4 nights. Taking magnesium has helped.

How much magnesium do you take?

gimmemounjaro · 11/08/2025 11:15

I have just started on magnesium bath salts yesterday - I fell asleep straight away so that was an improvement, but still pinged awake at 2am and stayed awake until 5.

I can’t take magnesium as it interacts with another one of my heart medications. It’s really bloody annoying!
