I started Wegovy on 22nd July and between then and last Wednesday (weigh in day) I'd lost 7.9lbs which I was thrilled about. I've just weighed myself this morning and I've put on weight!! I know I still have 3 days till my next official weigh in but I wasn't expecting that!!

I've ordered my next pen which has been delivered and stuck with the lowest dose as I'll be going on holiday when I start the 2nd one and was worried about side effects while I'm away and also because I thought I was losing well on this dose.

Am I going to have 5 weeks of disappointment in terms of weight loss? Especially as I'll be on holiday! I don't plan to over indulge - apart from anything else I don't have the appetite at all to be able to each much anyways!

Try not to worry. Weight loss is variable and due to many things- where you are in your cycle, what you ate at the last meal, even the hot weather.

keep on at it. I’m on mounjaro. Sometimes I plateau one week and then have a big loss the next. It all averages out.

Healthy weight loss is between 1-2lb a week, You lost 7.9lb in 2 weeks so well over that but it was probably water weight. If you expect to lose at the same rate going forward long term then yes the likelihood is you will feel disappointed (but shouldn’t be). I’ve been taking Mounjaro for over a year now and my average is 1.43lb a week. I had many weeks of staying the same and quite a few of putting weight on too. My advice is do not compare your to loss to others, especially the ones on TikTok etc! Do not be disappointed, keep going even if you have a long plateau. Take body measurements, you may not see the change on the scales but it will show in inches.

Thank you both for your words of encouragement!! It's still early days isn't it and you're right that 1-2lbs is average then it all should even out.
