Does the tiredness ever end?

I was on mounjaro last year for 1 pen and then quit because I couldn't cope with the side effects. One being that I was constantly exhausted!

I decided to try again this year and I'm on week one. Again, I'm so so tired I can barely function. Did anyone else feel like this in the beginning and did it eventually get easier? I just feel like I'm getting ill. That's the best way of describing it.

I've been on it for 10 months, 2 months ago i started taking L tyrosine which converts to dopamine. Mounjaro is known to interrupt the dopamine pathway leading to feeling low and exhausted. L tyrosine works really well with energy and focus but I haven't taken it for a week and I'm back to feeling wiped again! Would recommend reading the reviews. I'm on 15mg and it gets worse the higher up you go with the doses. Make sure you are eating enough and drinking enough water and take vitamins..which I also forget to do. Plenty of protein does help.

Absolutely I had this. Cold and lethargic. Ennui I called it, like mild depression. Yes it has definitely lessened - I am 5 months in, but I've stayed at 5mg and losing very slowly. I slept badly too at the start.

What are you eating? If you are not fueling your body properly you will feel fatigued.

Rorpethy · 10/08/2025 19:47

I'm eating 3 decent, healthy meals a day. No snacks but I'm definitely eating enough. When I stopped taking mounjaro last year, I carried on eating exactly the same but the exhaustion went away after I stopped taking it.

I'm glad to hear it's lessened. I'm also feeling cold but I'm not complaining as I'm normally hot all the time which I hate. How long would you say it took for the tiredness to ease off? Even if it was just slightly?

If you're cutting out sugar, white Carbs or caffeine you are going to feel s h battered.? Sh battered?! That too 🤣 it's a heady mix.

It's bit like when I did Atkins over 20 years ago... 2 weeks with a hangover is what it felt like, the zing! Energy. I couldn't sustain it though.

I'm on 12.5mg at the moment and tbh I can't see rhyme nor reason why I feel like I do. 7.5 - awful, my first vomiting experiences. 10 - lovely. 2nd week on 10 awful, 3rd lovely.
Up to 12.5 - blooming awful first week, wiped out, nauseous, vomiting.
2nd week - an absolute delight!
Into my 3rd now, injected this morning, so I'll wait and see.

First weeks are always going to be hard if you're eating particularly healthy for a change as it's sugar, carb, caffeine - whatever withdrawal.

I'd day I had it for 3 months. Low mood and low energy. Definitely better 5 months in.

I’m 5 months in on low doses and still feel permanently exhausted.

OP, would you say a bit more about your dizzy symptoms? Are you feeling it constantly or when you stand up or something else?
