Constipation and chia seeds

I am on jab 3 of Mounjaro and the constipation is my biggest issue.

I do suffer in general and while I try all the tricks I know to go at least semi-regular (that means for me 1-2x a week), nothing until I take Dulcolax.
No dried fruit, no tons of water, no peppermint tea, no fresh orange juice on an empty stomach - my fibre intake has definitely increased already thanks to changes in my diet.

Googling brought me to the chia seed wonder weapon. I eat it with greek yoghurt but nothing happens. Do I really have to soak it?

I have a huge issue with all kind of mushy food so the idea of gloopy seeds is a nigthmare for me.

Any other secret ideas how to get things going?

Have you tried digestive enzymes? I discovered them in Holland & Barrett lately - really good. One with a meal

I was on these, but have swapped them for linseeds now. Golden linseed from Tesco in particular.

A large desert spoon, mixed with activia yoghurt and berries. Have with a LARGE strong coffee and Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt

I used linseeds before so I may go back to them.

Try the milled chia and flaxseed. Does the same job and are much more palatable. I add wheat bran also. Mix the lot with Greek yogurt and a "sauce" of blended kiwi, berries, avocado and spinach on top. Sounds like work, but it's very easy to assemble. I make the "sauce" in bulk and keep a weeks worth in the fridge for use bit by bit every day.

That and hot coffee work for me anyway.

Magnesium Citrate is what I use. Take it at night and it might help you sleep better too.

The cubes of dried fruit and things. Cant remember what they are called i got them on amazon.

The taste horrible so I cut them up and tahe them like tablets with a pint if water. Take two and by the next day alls well.

Chia seeds do need to be soaked. The tiny unsoaked seeds can get ‘stuck’ in your digestive system, especially if it’s been slowed down by weight loss injections.

My saviour from constipation has been psyllium husk capsules. I take 2 every morning with a glass of water.

Aloe Vera juice works for me. I use fushi brand

I drink 150ml of prune juice every morning which does the job.

It’s pretty much my only side effect too and I’ve tried everything to no avail. I now take a fibre supplement- 2 tsp in my morning cuppa - and that seems to be keeping things more regular. Never had constipation in my life before, having suffered from IBS and always had the opposite problem!
