3.75mg dose using 2.5mg pen - Needles

I am on my second 2.5mg pen and have taken 2 normal doses of 2.5mg but have taken 3.75mg from the next dose. I injected the regular 2.5mg dose then twisted the pen another 30 clicks to get half a dose of 1.25mg using the same needle. is this a problem? I have seen other posters mentioning using a new needle for this. Is that for hygiene purposes, is it dangerous and could snap off, or for effectiveness of the dose reasons? I am curious as it didn't cross my mind to use a new needle and now I feel slightly silly for not considering this. I was very careful and they were both injected about 10 seconds apart into the same area. I plan to do the same next week with the remaining half dose and use an insulin syringe for the golden dose ( 0.6ml)

When upping a dose mid way through a pen, I have always used the 'same needle' method as you described. Never had any problems.

Everything I’ve read suggests this is fine as it was on the same person at the same time. What you must never do is keep a needle to reuse later or share needles. I wouldn’t worry at all about this.

If I were you next week I would just take the whole lot out with an insulin syringe (0.9ml will be 3.75mg) rather than doing the last 30 clicks with pen needle and 0.6ml with syringe but either will be fine.
