Upset tummy

Hi , I’ve just started my 2nd week on mounjaro 2.5 mil, 36 hours after the jab I’ve been getting bad diarrhoea , it lasts about 2-3 days has anybody else had this Side affect and do you know if when you go to the next strength, this will continue 🙁

Yes I've had it and it does go but it's individual as to how you would react the next time. It's probably caused by what you have eaten so maybe review.

I've not gone above the lowest dose and am 19 weeks in so can't help on the increased dose.

Keep up fluids and fiber and it should pass.

If you look at the paper information leaflet that came with your pen, you will see that diarrhoea is listed as a Very Common side effect which may affect up to 1 in 10 people. It also says "These side effects are usually not severe. They are most common when first starting tirzepatide but decrease over time in most patients."

So, I had some similar symptoms on the lower doses on a couple of occasions but have not had any side effects at all for months now.

It can also be useful to use a dose tracking app like Shotsy, DoseDiary, to track the estimated amount of medication in your system. You can see how it correlates to any side effects that you may be having.
