Help me work out this dosage please?

I've got a 5mg pen with 2 doses remaining plus the 'golden dose' and I have a 7.5mg pen to start once I've finished this pen. My problem is that this is my 3rd 5mg pen and I don't think it's working for me now so I need to increase my dose. Does anyone know how I can work it out so I could potentially do a 6.5mg dose using my 5mg pen?

From a 5mg pen, you would need a dose of 78 clicks or 0.78ml in a syringe to do a 6.5mg dose. Using the pen you’d need to do a full 5mg dose and then another injection of 18 clicks to make 6.5mg. Or use a syringe and extract 0.78ml. Might be easier to make it 0.8ml which would be 6.67mg.

In your pen with 2 doses plus the leftover medication you’ll have about 1.8 to 2.1ml of medication. So enough for 2 lots of 0.8ml, but not quite enough for 3 of those doses.

Regardless of pen strength or the required dose, the theory to work out clicks is….

Dose required divided by pen strength x 60 = clicks

6.5 divided by 5 x 60 = 78 clicks / 0.78ml
