Two week break?

I’ve taken a 2 week break due to a holiday (enjoyed every moment!) and wondering if anyone else has done this and what dose you went back onto? I know the official word is to go right back to the start but almost a year into using injections and on 12.5mg, do I definitely need to do this? Or just go back a bit lower? I’ve tolerated the drug very well all this time. Thanks

Could you log the last few doses you’ve had on Shotsy to see what level is still in your system and add doses at different levels to see which won’t cause too big of an increase for you.

If it is just two weeks since your last injection I think you can go back to same dose - check the patient leaflet in the box.

Longer, missed two weeks and this is the 3rd week, you should speak to your provider, it will depend on tolerance/dose etc.

I skipped 14 days recently. Shotsy put my estimated levels at about 4.5mg but I just did my usual 12.5mg as normal on Monday. All good for me, no side effects (but I've never really suffered side effects anyway).

When I did this I went back in at 10mg (instead of usual 12.5mg) but had no issues so I future would go back at full strength. I think by the time you’re at high levels the side effects don’t seem to happen!

Thanks all. Very reassuring. I have a gut feeling I’ll be ok on 12.5 so glad you hear it’s been the case for some of you

There should be a version of this grid in your patient information leaflet to help you work out if you can go straight back onto 12.5mg within the manufacturer’s guidance.

@SnozzlemaidIve just had a look at this - it’s got even longer than the 2 weeks now- I’ve put in a dose as if I’ve taken the 12.5mg today and it shows a boost to just below 12mg in my system if I take it. Previous to my break it had been at peaks of 16/17mg when I was on weekly doses. I’m not sure how to understand it…

I guess you need to look at the sharp rise you will get if you take 12.5 now from the level you have in your system now.
A big increase does seem to cause side effects so something to be cautious about.
