I noticed we were almost full (again!) so took the liberty of starting thread 5 now so I don’t get confused on nightshift and can’t find you all!

Frustratingly, I'm half a kg off a nice round 10kg loss and have been for about a month. I need to adjust my dosage, but I'm going away for a few days and don't want any adverse SEs. Annoying.

Sallycinnamum · 09/08/2025 10:32

Morning all. Heading back home today after a lovely holiday.

Ate far too much tapas last night and woke up in the night with awful stomach cramps. I am 2 days overdue my jab (didn't want to take it with me) so suppression is very low hence the surge in appetite but is a reminder that I need to watch what I eat as the effects though minor are still there.

I'd hazard a guess that I've probably gained at least 3lbs but I'm intending to jab as soon as I get back tonight.

Well done on all the losses all.

hottubsundays · 09/08/2025 11:20

Morning losers!

I’ve been AWOL due to busy work/summer hols/juggling kids and it took me ages to find the right thread 🤣 everyone’s doing so well here, congratulations to everyone and the house move too @DidILeaveTheGasOn must have been stressful - hope you get to explore your new area.

Ive tried to stop obsessing about the losses although I’ve lost about 5lb in the last 4 weeks it seems after a long plateau. I have felt really tired and at times have wanted to ask my nurse about upping my dosage because that’s one of my signs that my blood sugar isn’t as well controlled. This week I jabbed a day early because I’m trying to move to a Friday pre holiday so I don’t have to take it with me. And have felt much more energetic this week! Have pretty much stopped eating breakfast and have a protein shake instead which seems to really work for me. I’ve been so busy food is becoming something I need to eat like a small salad and I get in with my day. Had to buy 2 new pairs of jeans in the lower size as I had nothing that fitted me! Can’t remember who was asking about swimwear but check out the next sale as I bought a really nice fatface bikini and you pick the top and bottom sizes separately x

Morning losers and well done on losses.

@Sallycinnamum hope you’ve had a fab time! I bet the tapas was yum!

Im still on the mend. Jab day is supposed to be tomorrow and I’m debating whether to do it at all or if I do I think I’m going to revert back down to 2.5mg and not the 3.75mg I was on before that one dose of 5mg I regret. It’s been a horrid week and I really don’t want to remotely feel like that again. I’m not far off being in healthy weight category and I wonder if I’m best plodding along on the low dose as a step into maintenance. I’ve not been able to work out at all this week either with the sickness and I want to somehow get my brain more focussed on the exercise and weights than the food noises. Easier said than done!

Seahorsesplendour · 09/08/2025 21:17

Evening all!!

Just had a lovely post holiday catch up on the ups & downs of the last week!!

@DidILeaveTheGasOn everyone responded so perfectly & I hope you’ve had a better day today!! I moved house last year & honestly it took me a year to feel like myself again and I put over a stone in in the process!! You’re doing amazingly!!!

we’ve had such a good week away! Was very lovely & much needed family time!!

have def put weight on and going to weigh in morning to see how much

i ate lots of icecream & drink a little too much wine

however, not all bad so positives as follows:

did a LWR work out every day (bar 1) and enjoyed it

enjoyed Walks I wouldn’t have been able to do last year

had healthy breakfasts every day (I am normally a toast fiend on holiday!)

jabbed on return rather than the wine & takeaway my brain was telling me to have as one last fling!

will report the damage tomorrow but strangely ok with it all and looking forward to loosing again this week.

it was interesting reading the comments about this being our new normal and the changes as this becomes long term weight loss and they resonate hugely - pre MJ I would not be seeing these positives but would be throwing in the towel right about now after beating myself with it first!

onwards & downwards you lovely bunch of humans!!

Seahorsesplendour · 10/08/2025 08:00

Gained 4lb! 😮hoping most of it is water weight!!!

Thinking back I had a tough stress filled week before holiday too and didn’t weigh as felt like I’d gained so I’m counting it as 2lb a week on rather than 4in one week!!!

thank goodness for MJ as it’s holding that soul destroying panic over yet another failed weight loss attempt at bay!!!!

off to do a LWR work out!! While the third load of washing is on! 😂🤣😂

tostaky · 10/08/2025 09:29

Sorry to hear about your gain @Seahorsesplendour - you are rught not letting it affect you, im a daily weighter and weight does fluctuate a lot so you may have weighted on a random up and by tomorrow those pesky pounds will be gone.

im on holidays and there is this full lenght mirror in the bathroom that is not possible to escape when i have a shower. I feel like a giant wobbly blob! It makes me want to do lots of weight training, i clearly have a lot of toning to do!!! Or i need to avoid mirrors for the rest of my life!

Gingercar · 10/08/2025 09:47

Don’t let it bother you. I wouldn’t be suprised if a lot of that is gone in a couple of days. When I was flying I usually weighed more heavily after a flight. Anyway, you’ve got to live a life. You made good choices, you enjoyed yourself and it can easily come off. The main thing to do now is not to be hard on yourself:

dc82 · 10/08/2025 10:30

Don’t feel bad @Seahorsesplendour! You’d a great holiday and I agree with everyone I suspect you’ll find it will disappear just as quickly as it appeared.

Weigh in for me and it won’t shock anyone to know I’ve lost 3lbs this week - and I can’t take any joy in it because the first four days were just grim. I will no doubt have a gain this week as my body resettles again. It does mean my bmi is now 24.9 and in the ‘healthy’ range for the first time in a very long time! I’m going to go back down to 2.5mg from now on and try working from that whilst weight training and exercising to get me to goal.

BerfyTigot · 10/08/2025 12:16

@dc82 well done on being a healthy bmi! 👏
I randomly vomited last night - thought I'd passed the side effects. Also had terrible pain in lower bowel.
I lay in bed moaning and swore to myself that I'd never jab again. But I can't give up now. And ive got a full 7.5mg pen in the fridge.

I can't believe how much some of you lot are coping with at the same time - house moves etc. I'm exhausted just reading about it all.

DBatteryBand · 10/08/2025 13:06

@Seahorsesplendour don't worry - it will all come right. I came back from holiday yesterday and weighed myself - I was 4lbs up, too, and a bit peeved about it as I'd been pretty good, barring one or two croissant-related accidents and too much wine. Drank loads of water, went to bed, weighed again this morning and it's now only 1lb gain,so it may just be water retention from travelling.

I am a few days late jabbing, though, and can really tell. I had to be strict with myself travelling home yesterday and go and buy a salad from M&S while the rest of the family were throwing delicious McDonald's items down their necks, like starving gannets. It's the first time since May that I've wanted to eat something like that. Jabbed first thing this morning, so hopefully I will be back to my new, sanctimonious, salad -loving self before long.

Apprenante · 10/08/2025 14:35

I've lost 15% of my starting weight since May 1st. Thats 30lb. I should be celebrating that but instead I'm feeling disappointed that this week I've 'only' lost a pound and a quarter. Someone slap me please!

Still have about 20lb to lose to be comfortably in the overweight category.

Seahorsesplendour · 10/08/2025 19:32

Thanks everyone appreciate the solidarity!! @DBatteryBand i may do a cheeky midweek weigh in as I have upped the water again today but have not stopped weeing!!! Much like I was at the start so I suspect you’re all right!

@Apprenante i’m not going to slap you as that’s altogether too violent 😅but I will say congratulations!! That is such an amazing achievement!!!

Checking back to the list of weights you’ve lost the amount of cheese an average American eats in a year…. You absolutely need to focus on the bigger picture!! But also re look at the pictures of a pound of fat as that’s also impressive!!!

each pound adds up! I’m at a 12% loss since May! You’re rocking it!!!!

DottyMcDiet · 10/08/2025 19:59

I had my first STS this week and am so disappointed 😢

I’ve lost 12% of my body weight since May so am happy with my progress but I still have a LONG way to go to get my BMI under 30.

I’m on my second 5mg pen and was hoping to take my time going up the doses as I have so far to go.

Let’s see what next week brings 🤞

PandaIsMySpiritAnimal · 10/08/2025 20:23

@DottyMcDiet I also lost just around 12% of weight. I'm about 1/3 of the way there, so will be a long time before I get to the finish/out of the obese category.

I did 2x5mg , but the last week on the 2nd 5mg was really hard, I was ok when I was at home, but as soon as I was out and about my portion size sky rocketed and I could carry on way too easy.

I moved to 6.5 (bonus dose before I go up to 7.5) and omg it's such a difference, feels like all the cravings and distractions have been shut down again firmly.

I also want to go up as slowly as possible, but I think I just have to listen to my body and if a higher injection is the answer, so be it.

DottyMcDiet · 10/08/2025 21:25

Thanks for the encouragement @PandaIsMySpiritAnimal, I was just about to order another 5mg pen but think I may need to change that to a 7.5mg.
I titrated up slowly, I did 3 x 3.75mg and 2 x 4.1mg out of my first 5mg pen.

chergar · 10/08/2025 22:19

Weekly check in - lost 3.4lb this week, total loss 2st 10.1lb

AlicesMum2025 · 10/08/2025 23:00

Weighed in on Thursday and 2.5kg / 5.5lb off. I'm shaken! Last week was TOTM so I think that's why I've had a whoosh (water weight).

Total loss in 14 weeks is now 20.1kg / 3st 2.5 / 44.5 lbs

Even though I've lost 3st I haven't really changed clothes size. I've probably gone down one size on my top due to a decrease in the size of the top of my B belly. But my bum and hips are still the same. I'm a pear shape so I'm just looking dumper. 🤞 I start losing inches on my lower half soon.

I jabbed in my thigh last week and although I didn't bruise this time, I still got an itchy red lump. At least scratching my leg doesn't look as weird as scratching my belly! I was hoping this SE would fade but it's been like this for almost 2 months now. A SE I'm totally willing to put up with though.

I have now completed my first week at the gym (3 sessions). I've enjoyed it but it's a rollercoaster of emotions. Some weights I can lift I'm amazed by but other times I'm sickened at what poor condition my body is in. It can only get better though so I'm going to keep at it.

AlicesMum2025 · 10/08/2025 23:01

Great news @chergar , you must be so pleased with that

VashtaNerada · 11/08/2025 03:12

I’m going to stick with 5mg for now because although the weight loss is fairly slow, the nausea is still horrible a few days in. I’m also realising that jabbing Friday evening isn’t ideal because it means I’m always unwell on a Monday which isn’t great for work. Don’t want to risk moving to Thursday though just in case I ever have a strong and immediate reaction (which I had right at the beginning).

Apprenante · 11/08/2025 08:45

@Chergar and @AlicesMum2025 WOW!!!

Seahorsesplendour · 11/08/2025 08:59

They are great losses!!!! 🤗

you were all spot on about my weight … after a very good day yesterday with water & protein plus waking twice in the night for a wee I couldn’t resist the lure of the scales this morning and 3lb of holiday weight gone like magic 🤣😂🤣

this water retention thing is insane!!!

hope everyone has a good day!!!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 11/08/2025 09:02

Good morning and holy shit you guys are shrinking! Congratulations!

@AlicesMum2025 I get the itchy welt at injection site too. I tried some insect bite cream on it and it really helped, might be worth a go. I need to remember to use it, got the attention span of a shoe.

@PandaIsMySpiritAnimal I really appreciate your post about dosage. This past week on 5mg has been hard graft and I've made the decision to go up to 7.5mg, but I was worrying about it. Thank you for the wise words!

I'm 205lbs today, so I've lost 35lbs, or 2 and a half stone. It feels good! On Saturday we went out for lunch in a nearby village, to a really nice bistro. I wore a burnt orange top from New Look via Vinted, size 14, and size 18 jeans, and did my hair and make up. I felt amazing! My stomach has gone down so much. My arms still haven't, gah!

I feel sad for all the time I spent feeling hideous and rotating the same three tops and one pair of jeans. Being obese takes up so much mental space and energy. So glad I'm doing something about it, I feel empowered instead of trapped.

Seahorsesplendour · 11/08/2025 09:20

Winning this morning after NSV too!!

have annoyingly awkward feet with various needs which Birkenstocks and sketchers normally meet.

However all holiday was complaining about my birkies not being as comfy as normal then just had a eureka moment and tightened the straps and they’re back on top form!!! 😂🤣😂

SussexLass87 · 11/08/2025 10:41

Love reading all your posts...congrats on the losses.

It really resonates with me when people talk about dressing. I'm looking through my drawers thinking what would I "like" to wear today rather than "oh what fits"...it feels so much more joyful.

So happy for you all 💓
