Supplier Advice

Are there any suppliers out there who don’t inform your GP if you request them not to (apart from Voy), and who do not require video calls, blood tests, etc? I’m currently with Voy but they’re quite expensive, and all they required was a photo of me and proof of ID, which I’m ok with.

Why don't you want your GP to know?

This is what was written on Oushks recent GPhC inspection report

"When people refuse consent for their GP to be notified, the pharmacy still goes ahead and prescribes and supplies the medicine. This means their GP might not know a supply has been made and may miss opportunities to raise concerns."

and

"The pharmacy must ensure that a person’s GP is informed when medicines for weight loss are supplied, and that people explicitly consent to this. Records must be available to confirm this has been done. The pharmacy must be able to demonstrate that prescribers make clear records explaining their justification for prescribing, in circumstances where there is no consent to share information with the person’s GP."

If you do find a provider that does not inform you GP, you might find they change their policy in the coming months and will eventually stop prescribing without consent if it becomes too difficult to justify their online prescribing decision.

If you are wanting to use the treatment long term you might be better resolving whatever issue is stopping you from wanting your GP to know.
