I’m not sure if this is really a rant, a complaint or a question??…. I started MJ 10 weeks ago and I’ve lost 9lb in total?!? I’ve seen zero posts about people not loosing much?! What am I not doing??…. I log every bite of food on the WW (weight watchers for MJ) app so I know my exact calorie/ proteins etc intake (aprox 1000-1300 ish per day) I drink aprox 3-4lt water a day. I do two Pilates class a week. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Starting weight 12.9lb (currently 12.1lb - week 10) I’m 5ft5 and currently on 7.5mg dose.

1lb a week is a sustainable and normal weight loss amount.

MJ is not about losing lots quickly, its about helping to make the right decisions about the food you're eating.

What we're you expecting to lose? Why did you turn to WLI?

I'm on WLI because without them it feels like I have no off switch - so while I'm eating healthy food, I'm eating 4 times more than I need. MJ has stopped that and made it easy to stop when I've had enough.
1-2lb a week is my goal and MJ is helping make that achievable.

northernlight20 · 24/07/2025 10:26

That’s a great loss! What were u expecting? To lose 2stone in 10wks? Cos that would be very unrealistic and unhealthy.

IsItSnowing · 24/07/2025 10:38

That’s a pretty good loss. Your bmi was under 30 when you started so you wouldn’t expect huge losses.

NoweverytimeIgoforthemailbox · 24/07/2025 10:39

1lb a week is a good lose, especially for your starting weight.

humptydumptyfelloff · 24/07/2025 10:41

Count your steps op

I’ve spent months saying I work full time and am on my feet but I bought a big standard stepper and attach it to myself.
my steps are abysmal on work days even though I’m busy.
so I started walking again. 3 miles every other day and I bought a walking pad that I do do three miles on at home of an evening.

in three weeks I’ve lost 5 lb

im eating normally and have cut out the crap

Eivira · 24/07/2025 10:45

My stats are almost identical to yours, I was 12.7 when I started about 4 months ago, don't know how old you are but I'm late 50s, Ive lost 3 stones now, I did lose a lot faster at first, but I think that's just inflammation /water weight, you are losing at a good pace, it's better to be slower, the only difference is maybe I eat only about 1000 per day sometimes less, and do 16/ 8 fasting

Lazygardener · 24/07/2025 10:47

Your weight loss is quite normal. If you feel it is slow, you could have a look at a thread on here called 'plodders club'. Plenty of posts there from the many people who are losing gradually, and have ups and downs.

AbundanceofKatherines · 24/07/2025 11:34

Has your weight loss been consistent or have you had plateaus? Can you spot any patterns?

As others have said, 1lb per week is a solid and sustainable loss, but I can understand your disappointment.

I am 5”3 and in my early 60s - I have to eat very little (around 1,000 cals a day) to lose more than 1lb per week. On 1.300 cals I would probably lose less than 1lb.

Keep going - those pounds soon add up and by Christmas you could be 10.5 stones 😃

Mumjaro · 24/07/2025 11:37

I’m on week 5 and have lost 5.7lb. Chuffed with that - slow and steady.

You don’t have much to lose so maybe that’s why? Do more exercise?

Maybe you need to eat less - I’m 17 stone and my BMR is 1600 ish so I’m sure by the time I’m 12 stone I’ll need to eat loads less.

Daisypod · 24/07/2025 12:05

I started on Mounjaro last year, I was slow to loose too. I’ve just checked back and I lost just over a stone in the first 10 weeks and I started at 20 stone so should’ve been easier to loose. But over the course of a year it’s been slow and steady, I’m now 12 stone 12 and it seems to be sustainable.
dont feel too despondent, your doing the right things and slow and steady is a much better way of loosing weight

flipent · 24/07/2025 12:07

@Daisypod That's amazing! I'm right at the start and hearing stories like yours are so inspiring!

Thanks so much team! I know it’s loosing and I know I should be happy with it so far. I think when you see people saying “I lost 3 stone in 3 months” type things, you feel disheartened. I am happy and I know it’s a marathon not a sprint, I just wondered how usual it was really x

I am around 32 BMI & I lose an average of 1lb a week.
It kind of makes me realise how easy it is to put on weight.
Just 750 more calories a day & I would be going in reverse putting on half a pound a week.

You didn't start at a very high BMI, so your rate of loss is unlikely to be as high in the beginning as others. You are doing brilliantly, congratulations!

PurpleCoo · 24/07/2025 20:53

You don't have that much to lose in comparison to others. The people losing 3 stone in 3 months will have had a much higher starting weight, and also, it's risky to lose weight that quickly. You can get gallstones, loose skin, hair fall out etc etc.

I like Pilates, and it's great for core work, but it won't really contribute anything to weight loss. Where is your cardio and where is your strength training? It might be helpful to exercise more. Can you walk more or start running? Can you join a gym, start swimming, do a strength and conditioning or body pump class a couple of times a week?

Well you've not read that many threads as lots of people lose nothing the first 4 weeks for a start!

Exactly. I'm 2.5 stone down in 6 months but guess what I've no loose skin and none of that dodgy face caused by losing too quickly!
