Does the nausea ease?

Hi all

So have done my first 4 weeks on 2.5 with no issue at all except some tiredness the day after injections. I was apprehensive to go up to 5 so have done 3.75 - moved up as the suppression wasn’t really there by week 4. However I’ve been so nauseous since last night. Will this ease up at all or should I go back to 2.5?

What have you been eating? Nausea is often linked to not eating enough or eating the wrong kind of foods.

I had a paella last night - could that have done it? Have only just managed to stomach a protein bar after vomiting through the night. Can’t seem to make myself eat anything else at the moment

I felt very nauseous for my first 4 weeks on 5mg, after breezing through 4 weeks on 2.5 with zero side effects. It seemed to get progressively worse through the day. In the end I realised it was worse after having dairy, so I cut back on that, and it definitely seems to have eased now (on week 6 of 5mg).

Try peppermint tea. The change from 2.5 to 5 hit me quite hard, I remember sitting looking in despair at a small bowl of raspberries and Greek yoghurt and wondering how on earth I was going to eat it. I do still get very mild nausea now on days 1-3, but it’s usually linked to not drinking enough water or not eating nice fresh, healthy food. It doesn’t bother me too much because I know I won’t actually be sick, so I make a cup of peppermint tea and crack on. The closest I’ve got to an actual puking incident was a few weeks ago when I didn’t bother eating for most of the day then threw four large glasses of wine down my neck with great enthusiasm. TBH, even pre-Mounjaro this would have had me up at 4 am feeling a bit green around the gills. And so it came to pass.

Paella was possibly a brave choice when going up a dose, but if you'd not suffered from nausea on it before I can see why you wouldn't have been concerned.

I've had no nausea at all on MJ, been on it for a year and have been able to eat anything I choose, in small quantities.

Good luck. Peppermint tea is a good shout from PP. Hydration is key. Anti-emetics like travel pills are also available from the pharmacy.
